The Suggestion...
Does similar damage to a normal blast, possibly a little more. It leaves molten residue on the ground which causes small gradual damage.

I've kinda got the molten residue bit made...
Maybe this could be alot more different from the energy blast by making the fireball go through enemies and it not blasting up on the ground, rather be made smaller the more it flew making it harder to hit far away enemies and to making it fly longer the bigger it is charged to?
@megaman4ever
Possibly, it however depends on the speed of the size deterioration. Not to mention how that would effect the spread of molten residue.
Would it leave a trail of fire in it's path if it is to shrink, for example? Or would it be left with a small amount of fire only at the end of it's path because of how much it has shrunk?
Personally if it is going to shrink during it's flight, then it should leave a trail. This would however opt out the option to have the fire also damage Merlin / his Soldiers if at all that was a considered possibility.
Another possibility for 'shrinking' to occur, is during it's flight if it ever makes contact with an enemy it could drain off a miniature fraction of it's power into the enemy causing a weak burn. After running through a couple enemies like this, when it finally impacts the ground it would cause a smaller explosion.
There are lots of ways you can go about this.

I agree, it should leave a trail of fire behind.
The fire then hurts everyone, including merlin and his soldiers/whatever summon as well as enemies.
I don't yet know how fire actually works - it maybe could be used defensively if an object reels as it hits fire - make a firewall and nobody can get past it.
Musical note(what's the code again?), you should know the answer to these the best=)

Fire is a mine, like the pitmonsters. It currently every team except scarlet and I can't quite remember but I think the undead might also be immune...probably not. Also, it explodes around 10 times before dieing. I was also thinking about setting a timer for when it would die, then have it reincarnate into two fires whenever it exploded, but that seemed like a little too much work.
lets compare the 2....... i saw a spell called Fire Circle, it makes a ring of fire around merlin and damages everthing around it.... but i gota say.... fireball in 1 derection is better because a ring of fire is cheap...
I fell in to a burning ring of fire
I went down,down,down
and the flames went higher.
And it burns,burns,burns
the ring of fire
the ring of fire.
