Ratings on Created maps (23)

I think it would be grand to have ratings on the Merlin Created maps. You could just fetch the rating for the individual suggestions on the map selection page and then prompt users to rate the map (i.e. the suggestion) on the game page.

(Created also doesn't have a game category in the suggestion creation dropdown menu, or I just can't see it)

Merlin Open 10 - Make New Maps (11)

You can now make brand new maps as well as editing existing ones. Instructions for how to do this can be found in the readme.txt inside the zip file.

The zip can be downloaded from the downloads page

MR Open 6 - All Maps (14)

You can download MR Open 6 from here:

http://www.themetalbox.com/downloads/merlin_open_06_all_maps.zip

Please leave feedback at this suggestion. I am most interested to know which maps work and which don't. If possible please tell me which room of the map causes the crash.

Equally, if a map works, please say so and I'll move it to the tested folder for the next release.

Thanks!

Merlin Open 08 - Map Editor (27)

I've updated Merlin Open with Super_merlin's map tests and also included the Map Editor for the first time.

When you run map_editor.exe it will automatically load whichever map is in the "map_to_play" folder.

Edit the map, save your changes. Then close the map editor and run merlin_open.exe to play the map.

You can download it from the downloads page or direct from the following link:

Merlin Open 20 - Monster Summon from ♪ (17)

has brought the monster summon to MR Open! This is an interesting development as it reverses the normal situation. Instead of a stream of enemies who (as they die) make you and your troops stronger, we have strong enemies who become more experienced (but gradually worn down) as they kill your endless supply of monsters.

I have made a map showing off the new spell, along with the energy punch (also added by ♪). It's tricky but I assure you perfectly possible to c ...[click title to read more]...

Editor smaller? (23)

Well i don't know about you guys but i have a mini laptop so the screen isn't too big.Now when i go to the editor to put the enemies in.I can't get to the shrouder row because my screen is too small and the editor cannot go lower. So I thought maybe you could make it wider instead of making it taller?

Remove Arrow Keys Control (5)

As far as I can tell, the arrow keys aren't very well suited to working a more complex mr(lacking enough nearby keys to control all the different available commands (currently 4 additional non number keys, which I think also disincludes enter, shift, alt/option and ctrl) If more keyed commands become available(which very much might happen, such as the group-summon[which I might actually do next, I just had a lightbulb moment] or another magic weapon) It will be very challenging to put them in pl ...[click title to read more]...
