Waves (18)

Ok, in one of my suggestions, I mentioned waves. These are where the enemy pours onto the screen from other parts of the map, and you fight defensivly. You can't cut off the enemy prematurely like you can by destroying a building, you just have to weather them out.

A place to train your army. Your wouldn't be allowed to interfere, except with the Army spell.

I don't know why this isn't in MR3 actually...

Bodyguard Exp goes to Merlin (34)

Like the title says. Whenever a unit that Merlin Summons gains experience the experience goes to Merlin. That way you do not have to worry about bringing your troops with you are wasting experience when your highly leveled troops die.
This would work the same way if you had other friendly wizards that used Summon Spells like if a Berlin used Monster Summon he would gain experience if any of the monsters killed enemies.

I just think this would a good way to get rid of the Army Summo ...[click title to read more]...

Wizards Need Rest (34)

You know how you choose just one wizard to fight with you? What if some wizards are better than others? what if the not-so good ones never get used after you get the other ones? ive got a solution!
because the other wizards aren't used to rampaging through lands and destroying everything they see, they must take frequent breaks. you have to beat a couple more screens untill you can use them again. better wizards take longer to recover

Team Override. (132)

On special screens, such as evil wizard battles and minibosses, all non-aldevar teams merge together against merlin. For one thing, this would avoid having problems(?) like mr3 where the magical alliance and the sarcastic prince vultures fought eachother rather than you in Ochre's screen.

Each team and enemy is assigned a priority, and enemies choose their targets by searching through the teams in order of priority, and the first team that exists is then looked through for the highest priority unit in the team, and targets that.In the event that there is more than one of said enemy(or of the same priority), the unit will target the closest one of them. Achievement system GET! (68)

Okay, so many, many games have achievements to unlock doing various tasks. I thought about how cool, no, AWESOME it would be for MR to have some as well.

Now, I was thinking that there should be several(10-30), with different levels of difficulty(like, bronze/silver/gold) in MR4. I know it's probably a big system to implement, and quite late in the production, but you can update the game after initial release you know..

water (2)

i know water has been suggested before, but heres a twist! in the water, there would be some kinda Fish Men in the water. it would shoot slime balls at you. you can blast them, but they can go under water sometimes, and when they do you cant blast them. their houses are very tough and would be above the water
Fish Men
attack: those balls that the hydras shoot at you
Speed: slow, but can go under water
health: low

A Simpler Water Suggestion (19)

In the world of gamemaking, a cool idea can equal tons of extra programming. To add water that Merlin can swim in, freeze, raft on, etc would take quite a long code to implement, since there is so many different mechanics to it. However, Merlin's land is kind of dry...so how could we put in water without making an extra year of programming for Steve? Here is my starting solution (expand on this guys).

In almost every game i play, there are positive semi-permanent spell effects that you and others can cast on yourself/others.

Something like increased speed, regenerate health, resist "X" type of damage N %...

this could be done in a few ways.

-consumable items
-casted spells (not a really good idea for merlin as you would need a LOT of hotkeys if you wished to make many spells)
-Area of effect

Setting Tiers of Spell in Game (20)

There should be a menu option where you can set the what unit is selected for each tier of a summon or morph spell. ie, for morph, at each tier, you would have a dropdown menu that would allow you to select which unit of that strength you want to morph into, like if you wanted to morph into a small melee, you have the options of becoming a bloke with a sword, a goblin warrior or a skeleton warrior(ect)

Early Ideas for mr4 (1)

One special Idea I had was that you could summon the wizard army. Meaning that you could have tones of wizards fireing at everyone at once.
More of the best voted ideas for enimies could be kept and added to it as well.
about a week should be used to allow more suggestions to merlins revenge 4's enemies then it will be closed off AGAIN...

Ive noticed when your using army spell, the first 8 or so levels fly by, then you slowly make your way up. Maybe a more linear exp rate would be nice, as it's near impossible to really level up units.

how do you choose the wizard to fight on the next screen? the wizard bar!on the top part of the screen, where it has the number of potions, and medikits and stuff, there is a button for each wizard, plus one that says "no wizard". when you beat a screen, below the wizard bar it says "choose the wizard to help you on the next screen". if were using the "wizards need rest" ([suggestion_5001]) then next to each wizard, there will be the number of screens to beat before you can use him.

I am suggesting a small mini-quest for each faction that, once beaten, allow that faction to be allies during battle on your current screen. Only one faction mini-quest may be completed per game.

mage spells (4)

sometimes when i'm low on health, and i'm running from skeletons, my mages will try and heal me, but i'm running, so they're spells don't catch up, and they have to try again. it gets annoying when they can't heal me cuz i have to keep moving. i think their spells should be able to follow merlin and the other guys around so it doesn't just hit the ground. and i don't know if this already works, but i think that if you and a bunch of other army guys are huddled up together, and a mage shoots a he ...[click title to read more]...

Saving. (2)

I'm not sure if this has been suggested on an earlier occasion but, I think that it would be useful to have more than one save file. It would safe guard against having autosave overright a saved game that you want to have with one where perhaps some high experience soldiers have died or something similarly unfortunate.

...it might be a good use of programming time:

When there is an evil wizard on the screen, all teams that are normally against aldevar(as opposed to the peasents) lay down their differences(teams) and join the black sorceror's side(I can't quite remember that team name)

Cannons (9)

By golly it's been a ridiculously long time since I've made a suggestion. BUT NO LONGER!!!

In my thinking about enemy AI, I thought it might be interesting if there were mobile cannons on the ground that the Goblins could use to gain the upper hand.

But instead of merely letting Goblins get in on the fun, why not let Merlin use them too? And for that matter, why not let the swordsmen and archers access it?
