The Suggestion...
Now for the stats.
Attack: I was thinking that it could do a tiny bit less damage but quicker projectile speed.
Speed: Just a tiny bit slower. I know it sounds really weird because they already walk really slow.
Defense: Higher defense than the usual golems.
Spawn: Of course, a moss covered cave.

You guys choose the one you like most.

I think I like the first one more, but would like it more if the grey parts became brownish.
Ok. I'll edit it soon.
Wow! Both are really nice!
..But it seems like a lame copypaste, which is sorta sad. Even with gfx edit, I'm not sure if I'd want two same enemies witha almost same stats that look just a little different.
Then again, the same could be said for the ice armored golems, and I guess this would add a little change..

I feel same way megaman. I might edit it. Maybe soon. I could transform it into a super-golem or something.
Actually I will definetly edit it. It will still be a golem but fatter and smaller. I will make it soon!
I like em both!
Thanks.
Question- could we have these golems do something different? Perhaps because of their slimy nature, they could slide into their targets?
Sliding? Maybe he gets down on his knees and then begins to slide using his hands!
He could also leave a trail of slime which eventually goes away and will make you slow down but there is the collision detecting.
So all in all, great idea Roxblaster!

Actually, I was kind of thinking he jumps into the ground while clutching his knees and slides on his back while spinning slightly, but that would be very tricky to animate.
Alternatively we could get that crawling motion you pointed out, which would make it a bit more unique- and again, harder to animate. Always a catch :)

Heh. He could also slide at you. You know at those parties where people slide on their stomach on the wet rubber-type of carpet? Ya, that is the attack I am imagining now. :)
That's what I'm imagining, but on his bum.
We are so close to a mind-meld right here.

Yes, indeed. The bum thing would be cool. Can you imagine him going into a bunch of goblins...STRIKE! XD.
There could be a mini-game. Someone brings a slime golem and you must push it into the goblins. Just like bowling. ;)
At first, the golem could run like a speed-skater. You know how they put their arms right in front of them and touch the oppisite shoulder and then they do it with the other arm. Ya like that. Then he will jump and swing his arms up as if he was on slide and he lands on his bum and he slides into his target.
Infact, why not make him skate? Like the slime makes go in a skating motion so he won't have to put his legs up when he is running.

I've changed how the golem looks like now. I've made it from scratch and instead of the grey, I've changed it to brown as suggested by Note. The whole body is similar to original golem but it's different. Here you go.
Oh, I have also made the grave. It's also pretty similar.

I.. Liked the original, grey with some green spots, the most. Maybe a very light brown might fit, but definitely not that dark. Detracts from the color balance with the green spots, especially when it's against a green or murky background instead of white.
The other thing is, it would be much easier to animate with only having to fill in some new colours. Creating a new whole animation for a multi-part golem body.. ..is tedious. Steve probably had a ton of work into animating the unicycle ostriches, golems and dragons. But, you're obviously free to do whatever you want, this is just my own opinion.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. It helps alot during the improvement. I'll make the brown lighter.
As for the animation, I feel like it wouldn't be too tedious because I think the movements would be rather subtle. For the attack though, I might just use the whole 'float-anchor' tool in GIMP.

Ah, right, the float-anchor or whatever it is. Yes, that would make it much easier.. Alright, sounds sensible.
Don't forget to make a custom projectile too, then.
And the legs are sort of weird. They.. ..The body could be a bit larger, as to have more base to attach the legs on, in my opinion. (kinda like the original golem) Unless you want it to look something like Rayman - and that's hardly what I'm imagining a golem would look like while moving. But artistical freedom is obviously fine :p

The legs are also awkward IMO too. I'll fix it when I feel like it.
Just a thought. What if the golems hit does less damage then a normal golem but also puts merlin at 1/6th speed for 5 seconeds. Basically creating a fear factor in a level where there are plenty of fast movers like those spiders.
I've been thinking about adding a special effect against Merlin once hit. This is because Merlin can dodge the golem's attack easily. So the damage dealt, should be rather powerful along with a special effect.
Or you could make it more difficult to dodge. Maybe with dispersion - since it would be inaccurate, half the time it will be farther away from Merlin - cutting off escape backwards, but half the time will intercept his movements and go for aiming ahead of Merlin's movement.
That's possible as well but are we able to make enemies attack where Merlin is heading?
No, dispersion is a value in the attack properties of a cast file. It measures how inaccurate the attack is - but sometimes a little inaccuracy is better than none, since it's unpredictable.
Merlin moves quite fast, so the dispersion would have to be quite large to really have the effect. If the projectile is fast too, the inaccuracy wouldn't have to be quite as high.
There are other options too - the projectile being faster, or perhaps a melee golem? It would be the first of the sort.

I was planning to make it melee if you read the conversation I had with Rox. :)
Actually, I didn't read it at all at first. But now I did.
And it clarifies things up, heh.
