Dialogue Triggering

So you know when you sometimes go up to something or someone, it triggers a dialogue right? Well when you move or click something, the dialogue ends. Now this is kind of annoying for me. As sometimes the dialogue might be important. Like remember in the beginning of MR3, there was that king stuck in that little chamber? If you complete the whole dialogue, you get a really cool song.

Now I haven't really found a solution to this so that is why I need your guys' help.

Maybe you can move around and also click but deactivates if you leave the screen.

This was already discussed...
Back then we came to the conclusion that there apparently is a timer which sets to how early you can end a dialogue, but the time should be extended.

And it hasn't been done yet.

It would be much nicer if you could just click to go through the dialog faster (this is true for both ingame cutscenes like the one with the king, and other ones like at the start and end of the game).

I have said that in the dialogue control suggestion...

I think I'll agree that something needs to be done with both... However, I think that this might be difficult to program, and we should rather just let the player be able to skip cutscenes altogether.

It's not that tough, it just doesn't seem all that urgent compared with other things.

I'll stick it in my roadmap though.

how about you just press say the space bar and it will go through each bit of dialougue till the end you can also press something like

; or ] or something particlarlry off the keys we use to skip the entire dialouge if the dialouge triggers a special event by skipping you get a choice to view the special by presiing y or n

I think the convention these days is for any key to skip on to the next bit of dialogue. I see this on the wii and on free games like

I remember when I was playing Pokemon, I would just keep on smashing the A button to go through dialogue. I would also do it in the PC but something bad happens almost all the time because I am an idiot.
If you keep on pressing A you might accidently talk to the nurse(forgot her name) again! Also, you might accidently tell her to heal your pokemon again.

That may be, but I'd say a key to go back again is vital. It's easy to double-hit and accidentally skip a line.

Yes. That is true. We need a backwards key.

Maybe just the up/down keys, space and enter? With up, you could go backwards a little.(again, just like in Wind Waker^_^)
