The Suggestion...
That way, new members comments can get approved quickly, and established members don't have to wait for their comment to be approved. AND it doesn't fall to the one or two members who have the status to do all the approving and get burned out.
If someone starts posting offensiveness up on the site, I can always revoke their approval status.
It would enable a lot more activity on the site and a lot less uneccessary checking and admin.

It's actually like this right now, what is truth: It's a pain to approve. Well, it isn't, but if a person makes 80 commens a day it is, for example.
So we make that person an approver so that we others don't have to approve his/her comments, unless, if they are rude or something.
Approver actually is more like 'get your comments auto-approved'. The last time I approved was two comments by ZeldaRules78(I think I got the name right??) and before that over a dozen by crazy, who already is an approver.

Funny when i came back fromm malaysia which was a few minutes ago i got 80 comments.
I was here yesterday and I had 111.
And back in 2006 and the 'big' friday updates, that was the amount.
Now we again have 5x as much lol.

yA we are getting more and more which is really cool.Alot of people have been coming back or making new accounts which is really nice.I hope we get even more.:)
Actually I don't like there being too many XD
I have to try and read through them all quick, the UK Leaders' Debate starts in 20 mins!
I have to try and read through them all quick, the UK Leaders' Debate starts in 20 mins!
Well of course when you have a huge debate in 20 minutes then you have a problem
Yeah, it's kinda an inhibitor to a controlled environment to have a whole lot of variable commentators.
Well generally it takes at least half an hour a day, coupled with other things that slow me down it adds rather a lot to my daily net-time before I do new stuff that I was hoping to get done XD
Looking at comments is the second thing i do every morning!(first one being waking up)
Haha, it's like one of the last things I do each night. :P
You can check your comments without walking out of bed sitting in your chair powering on the computer logging into your account opening your browser going to TMB logging in clicking on a link to new suggestions and opening one of said suggestions? I wish I could do that.
See i have a small bed and right beside is a electric socket so i can keep my computer charger there and leave my computer fully charged. My home page is the shockwave metal box site log in page.So all i have to do is pick up the computer and play.So all of that without getting out of bed.:)
I use my iPod Touch. No computer required.
But don't you still have to be "clicking on a link to new suggestions and opening one of said suggestions? I wish I could do that."
Yeah, I's sort of in the same situation as Darren.
Say I come home from school at... 3pm. Then I power on the computer, hoping that I'll get to play two hours or so of some great game.
I first need to check my email though. Not much, but I have 4 accounts, which takes a while. Then I decide to come here, getting 120 new comments. I read them all and post back in say.. An hour. It's 4.15. I already forgot I was going to play, and then decide I'm hungry and get some bread and watch anime while I'm on the computer. 4.45-5pm already. I decide to read the newest blog post on dungeonmastering.com, and when it's 5.30pm I remember I was going to play something. Happy after doing all the daily stuff, I find I have only 30 minutes of the three hours left for playing, since my mom comes around 6pm and usually wants the computer "since I have had so much time to play", even though I've played, what, fifteen minutes?
That is quite an realistic wednesday evening for me.

No idea what/where that is, but don't be surprised if one day you will see me IRL!!!1 >=D
Anyway, here is a full daily routine(thank goodness, the end of the whole school is so near, and it's really easy weeks anymore):
7.30-8.00(used to be 6.00-6.30): I wake up
I open the computer
I play, check comments, eat, take a shower, whatever else I may have time for
Leave for school at 9.15
*repeats evening procedure from after-school till 6pm as described earlier*
Leave and boot my Wii/laptop
continue what I was doing
Notice the internet is down
Fix it for half a hour/hour/leave it be in frustration and play with my wii
eat something
continue what I was doing or do homework
maybe eat something more
notice the clock is around 22.00-23.00 and go sleep

so you guys check comments once a day?
I check'em roughly twice a day (sometimes less sometimes more), once in the morning when I'm eating and once more at night when everything slows down, and there are almost always over 100 a day, sometimes all at once!
I don't check too much
I do it twice, as you can see from the daily routine. However, I do check them maybe three or even four times a day on weekends if my internet connection allows it.
Gnorthan only checks once a day; conquering nearby countries with ginormous, poorly-fed armies takes most of Gnorthan's time, that and imprisoning/executing misbehaving citizens.
You're the one excecuting and capturing misbehaving citizens? Man, you should really organize a police force of sorts to do it for you, unless you find killing pigs enjoyable or something.
I mean, why not have the nylon green pig people do all the dirty stuff?
Anyway, I actually retract ZeldaRules78's vote to become an approver, since he/she hasn't visited since that one big time.

True, true.Anyways ya Gnorthan, don't you have a whole army?I check almost 10 times...it's just that i like to check new comments:)
What I posted is the minimum for me. If I'm on the Internet, I'll check about every 45 minutes.
I'm getting into a habit of checking them last thing at night. I should be asleep really.
im pretty upsesed with this site.
I check on the odd occasion when I remember and it isn't a blue moon and there isn't an m in the month and it wasn't raining the previous saturday.
huh.
No, Gnorthan only tells the imprisoners/executioners how to do it.

So...your executioners check your comments gnorthan?
man i wish there was a chat box similar to the freewebs one
commenting can get boring when actually "chatting"
also thanks guys didnt realize that ppl actually gave me that power and making me a sorta "admin"
almost makes me want to cry

Yeah, looking at your past misdeeds, it sure must feel like a big thing.
It's more like "we're lazy, lets make his comments auto-approve" IMO=P
But yeah, I guess those misdeeds really are in the past then!

Yep.
Curious, is Erik an approver? If he is, I say we review that.

I don't think he is an approver but I might be wrong.
I've noticed that Steve hasn't been on awhile.
past mis deeds was when i wasnt that "mature" in my ways of speaking that includes my conflict with firestorm although that happened a while ago I start to think about how childish it was
Haha, yeah, and look at me too, using proper punctuation and all.. =P
Have to work on that...:)
I didn't use to, but I always have good spelling/puctuation now.
It would be cool if there was a spell check or soemthing.
but that's what approvers are for...
Here's another advantage of Firefox and Chrome! They can spell-check for you like word does :)
Erik was an approver and will be again if he keeps his nose clean for two weeks.
Hint Hint: Use Chrome.
Firefox rules.
I saw a video of like 10 tabs in 5 seconds I think in Chrome.
I don't really care about speed. I still use IE. Kill me for that if you wish.
As a real question, though, what about other browsers than the big three? How about Opera? Is it any good?
As a real question, though, what about other browsers than the big three? How about Opera? Is it any good?
Excuse me, but, er...what's opera doc?
I like both Chrome and Firefox for different reasons. Although it can do plugins Chrome is still inferior on that front, so I use firefox when I want some flexibility; when I'm just messing around on youtube or iPlayer, however, I choose Chrome.
Lynx! Okay, maybe not. Though I downloaded a binary and used it to post this comment for a laugh. What about Safari? I've heard it's not so good on Windows computers, but it's still pretty good on Macs, I think.
Opera is annoying. It's like Firefox only not as good, imo.
My opinion of all major browsers.
Internet Explorer: Completely useless. No standards, speed, anything. The IE9 preview looks pretty sweet though. It has GPU acceleration. I look forward to it, but won't personally use it.
Chrome: Great. Fast. Secure. Beats flying potatoes, sound waves, and lightning. How cool.
Firefox: Pretty good. Decently fast, and really secure and extensible. However, IMHO, it should switch to WebKit and the V8 Engine.
Safari: My first Non-IE browser. Used on XP. I liked it. But, that was when I was an Apple fanboy. I admit it. I dislike alot of things Apple does now. That 1984 ad is pretty full of irony now.
Opera: Decent. Deserves more, I mean they came up with a lot of stuff first and never get noticed. Like tabbed browsing, for instance. But, it's not Free ( in the Libre), so I wouldn't use it now.

Oh, and then, we need to all start putting HTLM 5 in out comments! Take that MegaMan!!
I hear that opera's not too bad.
My opinions:
IE: The standard browser I'll be comparing to.
FF: Has many options of customisation, but, I don't really care about any toolbars. I don't use social networking services either, which I hear are better on FF. I don't really know about how much better FF is in terms of security, but I don't really care about security as much. I trust my anti-malware programs to do the things, I don't watch [naughty movies], go to suspicious websites or download stuff(other than embedded movies, images and the sort to which I can't really have an effect on). I think my system is secure enough.
Chrome: Fast. Plain. Probably better. Hopefully customizable - I don't really like the desdign of it.
Opera: I've actually used it - probably can avoid most of these problems, but you see: I press some keys, a dozen of pop-ups come. Don't know any shortcuts of it, makes browsing more annoying at times. Then, I can't copy-paste by selecting and dragging, which I do often. Also, I find the download order annoying - it won't show the rest of the page before that movie is fully loaded, noo, while on IE all objects load simultaneously, so you wait a bit, then the website shows itself as full and no need to wait for the movie on the page to fully load before being able to click the links below it.
Yeah, I'm pretty 'blonde' when it comes to choosing browsers, but I'm used to IE and its shortcuts, and it never bitches on me with anything.

Fine Fine, but know that all web developers now hate you. Maybe if IE9 is any good...
question
alright "immature question" :P
did firestorm make his name cause of firefox
alright "immature question" :P
did firestorm make his name cause of firefox
I don't think so.
Nope. It was just a name I randomly chose years & years ago back when I was young enough to think such names were the best names ever.
Much like the predicament with just about every highschooler's e-mail address.
Yeah, and I mean, what kind of guy chooses a name like 'megaman4ever' even when I hadn't even played any games in the original series? O_O
I had played Legends/64 and some online flash games which even weren't official(duh), but that was it, and solely from those games deducted that Mega Man was the best game series in the world? So naive.

And what kind of uninventive fool uses his own name? Tut tut.
Darren: HA! I was about to say that you got it right by using your name!
My TMB name isn't all too hard to figure out, though my Youtube name is impossible to understand unless you knew me. Which is why I'll probably change it. Maybe I'll make it Mr.Mars :)
My name is self explanatory.
Crazy merlin man
321 is just an add-on

@Hobbes, if you say so XD
I suppose taking my attitude implies Steve's a fool as well XD
Yeah, my youtube name's odd. You wouldn't understand it even if you DID know me well.

Darren your name is Darren right?
...yes...
So...haven't seen WIT in a while.
I'd like to vouch for Firefrye to become an approver.
...whenever steve is next on.
...whenever steve is next on.
Yes indeed. I vouch too.
I think we(Steve) should make another admin, now that Lokey is ninja'd and Steve is near-death, like Shockwave.
I'd vouch for myself, obviously, but Note would make better, he pretty much leads the whole project now and is probably even more active on the site. For the heck of it, I don't think of myself as an irresponsible or lazy person(although I probably am the latter, judged by the pile of unreturned school work), but, like, yeah. It seems sort of egoistic to vouch yourself to be an admin too, lol.
I also +1 to Firefrye.

I was just about to say that megaman. I concur.
I vouch for either Note or megaman. Best Note because he has release abilities and such. I wish Steve would come on more often. Another admin would be great, those messages can be finally answered. :)
It also appears that megaman and I are on at the same time. It is truly epic. :D

Most of the time, I'm around pretty often.
Being able to make blog posts about mr work would be pretty awesome aswell, amd of course, a good motivation for doing work;)
I'd vouch for you too though.
I think that organizing some other projects amongst us could also be some fun, going forward with tmb past mr, judging from how we've got access to several programmers, (megaman4ever, Super_merlin, and myself... and steve, sometimes) artistic ability (crazy and rox, and maybe sketch again some day, along with several others) and access to some music.
That's pretty much all we could need to make some games and such!
Of course, we're lacking in advertising/promoting, but life goes on without that... and an mr release could fix that a bit.

Well, if we got something real nice here, we could always self-promote.. ..Word get's around pretty fast in the right circles.
And I'd love something to take part of along the summer now that I'm available again, it'd be a good experience, hopefully help the site, and most of all I'd like something to actually show around in my work portfolio.
But I'll get around with the Android first, it's interesting.
And getting more anonymous users of course always helps, so yeah, MR4 might be a cure for that too. But first of all we need these old anonymous users to stay on the site, to give them something to anticipate for. (front page blog posts, for example, lol)

I have already worked on MR advertising via Blogger etc.
But yeah we make MR4 all by ourselves. But still, for second admin, either megaman or note.:)

I think that the mailing list is pretty full from back in that day, and the blog notifies everyone in it about updates.
I'm trying to think of some practice works fro android before going about making a full game engine.
Something cool to make would be the object pooling, and module systems, if you know what I mean. The extremely data oriented design of mr would probably look quite nice in a portfolio btw;)
Something I suppose that I should work on, if it doesn't exist in director already, is a means of changing all the data into xml files. An re script in py-thon would probably be good for that.
We should get a brain storming suggestion going for possible android games to make. (non-mr related)

Why don't we put Repunzel's escape on Android?
Or we could use an instant messenger. Makes life easier for the times more than one guy is online.
Like MSN. The only one I actually use, lol.
Or we could camp up an IRC, preferably one accessible with a web browser. Or something lol.

Hmm. Rapunzel would work quite nicely for mobile... It could have an extraordinarily simple control scheme.
Exactly. Megaman, we should totally build up an IRC.
I defs don't use any ims.
An IRC could be interesting though. There's also the question of how much better it would be than just staying here. One of my favorite parts of this place is having many conversations going on at the same time, with the same people!

I agree with Note.

Here is my final try lol. Or just copypaste the address.

Should work. Absolutely.

My memory isn't limitless, you know.. ..A parameter is easy to forget if you assume you don't need it. Lol.
Been a while since I last needed to make a link on an external site using HTML, see.

Trying to do many in a single suggestion is quite the challenge, I might add.
