Different Worlds Ver 3( World Selection)

In order for the whole "multiple levels" thing to take place, there should be multiple worlds. And if there are multiple worlds, there should be a level selection. That way, you can go back to levels, get extras, and re-fight some of the previous batlles that you enjoyed earlier. In addition, the XP Bar could benefit from this, because this way, you may have to go back to levels to gain the XP needed to reach max level, instead of simply beating every area, which doesn't add much interest into the game. Speaking of XP and level ups, I just got an idea...

If you ask me, this would definitely be a lot more fun than just going over the level once, then having to start a new game to play it over again. Plus, EXTRA LEVELS, PEOPLE! Though the maps might be a little smaller, in order to not spend too much time on the level design.

Trouble with this is, each MR game is considered to be a level in the whole thing as well as a game in its own right.

Well, things change in MR, right? Don't you think that it would still be a cool idea, all the same?

hmm...I can see where you're coming from, but...no

Not really... Cause all it'll do is take twice as long to make the game.

Why not just make multiple games instead of spending time to make the levels? Also, once the MR open level editor is finished, you can make infinitely maps if you wished so.

Remember: I said that the maps would probably be shorter. In addition, maybe steve could take advantage of MR open and hire other people to design levels for him. It's a goood idea, and I won't let it die unless I go with it! X P

Because this way, you can fight level bosses that aren't just the final bosses. It would pretty much be like an extended map. Plus, I repeat, IT HELPS THE LEVELING UP PROCESSS.

Thing is, steve is in a bit of financial trouble I believe. Still, we can all make maps.

Paying people to make maps would defeat the purpose of it being open software methinks...

Well, atleast the MR open is now out.

But, as it is now, I would have to give a NO to this thing.

Then again there could be MR open and MR open XP(name changes applicable, of course), with the difference in XP would be that you level up more slowly, but the XP would be carried even if you changed maps. The persistent XP would only apply to Merlin, of course. This would give the same effect, right? When you open MR_XP, it should give a pop-up message asking if you want to keep the XP you have earned before. If you chose NO, you would start the map_to_play with lv1. In that case the XP you had from other maps wouldn't be erased. You should also be able to erase your progress with the XP you had earned, with a hotkey, for example?

Not if Merlin Open is anything like my Game Maker program, in which case you should be able to make it a persistant.
