Gimme Some Dough and I'll Give You...Some Dough.

Tell me, what is a pizza without dough?

Soup.

Chef don't make soup.

In order for Chef to continue throwing his pizza at an army of perfectly evil aliens, he must have an on-going supply of dough. After all, he can't summon it like energy. So, what will this supply be?

Bread-Stands, of course.

On many of the screens, Chef will encounter rather small shops selling lots of...well, dough. Chef will have to buy this from them in order to keep his Pizza attacks. As he gets deeper into the level, prices will start rising- however, I plan for a bit of variation.

The stands are, after all, outside, and thus open for an attack. Many times, a poor shop-keeper will succumb to the alien's might and lose everything, brave though he may be. If you save him, he might give you a discount, but he will certainly keep his stand up for you. If you don't, however, he will simply allow you to take all the dough he has made (from 10-100, depending) free of charge (hey, what's he going to do in the last seconds of his life?). If this happens, you cannot buy anything else from that stand. So basically, the choice to save a Bread-Stand is whether you should help them and have a renewable resource (albeit a little costly) or let him suffer and get instant ammo (but only once).

Also- If you save all of the Bread-Stands in the level, they will decide to give you their merchandise for free at any time, and will even give you a certain bready up-grade. That's something to strive for, right?

Now, one may ask, "Why do you want an ammo limit!? I like unlimited ammo! That's why I play Merlin's Revenge!" The simple answer is that I don't want this to be (and I've said this before) Merlin in an apron. There are a variety of weapons that Chef obtains, many of which are melee. To allow unlimited pizza would make those relatively useless, mmm?

But don't despair. Aliens (for some reason) like to carry around buckets of dough with them. (It's true.) Even if you couldn't save any of the shop-keepers, you would certainly get something from some of the enemies you destroy.

So yeah. Enjoy your pizza.

I like dough. Dyrf!

Gnorthan can vouch for the alien thing. Gnorthan's met plenty of aliens, but he still has no clue why the like to carry buckets of dough. hmm.

Simple. The aroma is strange but pleasent, while also providing a readily-available massage medium.

Chef don't make soup.

HILARIOUS! But yeah, aliens are just weird like that.
