Lol, if someone wants to draw it, I'll put it in. I wouldn't mind if you want to make a bit more bizzare like having the baby ostriches armed with lasers or something I dunno.
I would need to do a bit more programming to make a unit capable of dropping a dwelling (which what the egg would be) but that's ok, it would be time well spent.

Way back ages ago, there was some page on the website which appeared to be some contest for entries for enemies for MR1, except the only thing listed was the Sarcastic Prince Vulture (which was the name given there, so I'm taking it as the 'official' name), so I'm not sure if that was the only suggestion, or just listed as it was used, if if I'm going crazy and it was never there at all. Whatever it was, it was originally suggested that it would 'say' (via speech bubbles) things like 'Nice try!' and other such stuff when you attacked it.
Of course, when MR1 came around, they didn't do that.

Yeah, I always regretted not being able to do the sarcastic comments. In MR3, characters can speak: it probably wouldn't be too hard to have them say things as the battle continues. Taunts, if you will. But it would obscure the view and so on. Hmm... this should really be it's own suggestion.
Hmm. Well dragons display an animation between attacks (breathing smoke). Couldn't these gusy do the same thing, with the sarky comments?

yea, and the object of that is to sorta throw of merlin while he's paying attention to the comments, and other people hit him and stuff. it would make the game a little more, suckerpunchy.

on a technical note, you know where you've made stuff fade out, like in the reel anim and the egg hatching anim? In the game that will look like it's glowing white. If that doesn't make sense let me know and I'll try to explain.

Looks neat but kinda creepy... the legs look like human legs.

they should all have transparent backrounds, so they should fade to transparent not white, shouldn't they?
First let me say I love the human legs - I find it amusing :)
Second, the reason it would glow rather than fade is that shockwave will treat pure white as transparent, but all other colours (including very very pale grey) will be drawn as they are.
It is technically possible to import graphics into shockwave with an alpha channel. An alpha channel allows you to define colours as being semi-transparent. But I don't do this in my games because it takes way too long to draw and slows the game down.

well, since it's an animation, you can't save it as ,png, but .gif supports transparency also doesn't it? to model the eggs going to white, could you just have some render on a green backround and lighten the hue until it goes to white? just to see what would happen.
Donut, that doesn't seem to make sense. But in any case, as I said earlier, I won't have graphics with alphas in MR because they are too slow to draw in shockwave.
It's not a big deal. I think there is no difference between the transparancy and the scroll disappearance.

This is kewl, i like it. Just 1 thing, in the 1st set of pics, is the atk supposed to say the laying, or sumtin instead, or is laying the eggs really an attack, or did u label it wrong???????????

i think it could lay eggs on enemies and it would hurt cuz the egg is huge and it's rolling down and,yea.but it would need a longer time to reload the egg.

Maybe if u had a little mage on it that would yell out stuff, that way there would be somthing from MR so u cant complain...mehehe. But then again that mite b hard to put a mage n each frame by now...

Would people mind if the egg didn't hatch until it gets hit by something/dies(assuming that on first hit, the egg dies)?
then, the egg could be an enemy, with a reel that is the hatching (I'm not sure if that would work), and then, when the ostrich lays an egg, it is a ranged attack, whose bullet reincarnates as the egg. The egg could even roll around towards a target!

This ostrich cycle is funny it is coool!
I suppose this could be done two ways:
1. the egg is from an attack
2. the egg is a building
The building side is kindof nice, as it lets the eggs be attacked before they hatch, and make it such that there is some amount of time before the babies need worrying about.
However, the attack would make things easier.
