Yes, I think it would be cool to have some friendly goblins trying to help you on certain screens. So long as you are in no way in control of them - ie. not an alternate Army Summon.
kinda like they're innocent bystanders(after the screens done, before that they get to kill to thier hearts content)
How about, if you blast them, they all turn on you?
You mean goblin locals who want to hurt whoever the strongest guy on the screen (Merlin) is fighting?
kgy123's idea is simaler to a game i have.
how about ally goblin wizards and warriors to?
I have an excuse for them helping you: it's a community of goblins etc Merlin summoned with Monster Summon before the MR series began.
Does that mean they should have a blue glow?
They could, but if you return to a screen with them in MR2 the glow is gone, so you could say the glow is an after-affect of being created that quickly fades, so is long-gone on these guys.
True, though I always considered that a bug.
Yeah, but I find that if you come up with an alternative reasoning bugs suddenly become deliberate and fine to me.
It\'s like with the slow down for drama.

Oh bother not "matrix mode" again...
Lol it makes me smile
Lol it makes me smile
Maybe there should be another army summon like this... but only after everything is killed on the screen, they come after u so that-way it isnt so risky... I made a comment like this one time... Its coment #5447
I think they should only turn on you if you kill one, that way if you charge your blast up and one gets hit when you didn't mean to, your life wont get harder.
yea guy is right
The one want work the way the system is set up right now as they will not be targeted till they are enemies
guy has a good idea
you can also make it like when you find them their under attack by hmmm i dont know but somthing strong and when you save them all the places with goblins on them turns brown i guess but before that happens the goblin king talks to you and tells them to help you.

That level 20 Goblin in the Magic Forest of Doom was sort of your ally.
...no way is a goblin Merlin's ally.
But I like the lvl20 guy.
lvl 20 goblin? from which game?
MR3
Definitely kill it!!!
it would be cool,
DIE LVL 20 GOBLIN!
DIE LVL 20 GOBLIN!
So, is this a lot simpler than I was thinking it? (I was thinking that your army would switch to being made up of goblins or something of that sort)
This would then be very quick and easy to do!
Crazy: quest for you, if you so choose. Take everything goblin related, and make a copy of it, changing their file/cast names and team. the team should become #village (look at the farmers to see exactly how its spelt/written)the cast/filenames should become something that indicates that they are goblins, the type of goblin, and that they are friendly... probably following some sort of naming convention that you can choose, or follow the existing conventions, but with friendly or something in front.
For an extra mr2-y/monster summon-y feel, you could make the goblin troops ghosts as well, add #ghost: true, such that they can walk over walls. (to make sure I've got that tag right, check one of the monster summon units)
I'll put up another map editor so you can test them.
Once you're done renaming, there will be another file to edit, also in the data library. It'll be tlk_merlinOpenObjects (I'm not sure about the tlk)
you will want to look at the editor to see where I put them, but you will change a bunch of #none's to the various names you come up with.

Ok. I can do that. Apart from the last part. What do you mean by change the nones to names I HAVE MADE?
You know, when you copy the gobs and make them to your team, the cast file has to be named differently. Then add the new 'friend goblin' into the editor by changing the #nones into the casts you just made.
Oh ok. Then that is a "can do".
Well I have all the cast files with me right now. I just pretty much put friend behind every place where it said goblin. I also edited tlk_merlinOpenObjects. I put all the info in row 17. Sooooo, what's next?
I was actually going to put them, as much as possible, on the same line as the farmers and town watches.
Whoops, there definitely wasn't space for them there!
here is a map editor which should let you do testing: http://www.zshare.net/download/814993478045a2fb/
move all the things you called #none to their correct places, and I think you should be able to get it to work. If you come up with errors anywhere, its likely that you have bad counting, like I do,(there should be ten lines in between each -- row) or, empty lines have popped up at the end of the text file, which seems to happen now and then.(the last #none should also be the last line)

So I have to put them in the right row? What do you mean? Isn't row 17 fine? I'll test the editor.
They should now be in the row above the one with the music. Looking back, that is in fact row 17:) As long as they are in the same order as the original goblins, everything should work well.
Well the editor doesn't work. It says:
"Unable to load movie playlist. Does the .INI file exist? It must contain a section '[Movies]' with an entry 'Movie01=Pathname.dir'"

Do you have a map in map_to_play? I just downloaded it, and it works for me.
Hold on. I will check.
Nope. It still doesn't work.
Hang on, I'll upload my whole mr folder.
loooooonnnnnnnggggggg time to upload.

Sorry. I'll download it soon.
Does it work?
You can just use the most recent update, if you'd prefer.
Got it working? Otherwise I'll put it together myself tomorrow.(doing as many as I can fit into line 8 of the tilesets really, which seems like it will work)(I suddenly remembered why I left line 17 empty... to accommodate tangerine's forces!)
Ahhh yes. The tangerine team!
