what do you mean? that we should save the game?
you should make it to be save
On MR2, you click "Save Game" and it saves the game to your computer but if your brother or whatever comes along, plays the game on the same computer and saves his game, it will overwrite yours.
What Nazgand is suggesting is that it should be possible for different people to save the game on the same computer without overwriting each other.
What I'm thinking of doing at the moment is having the player log in with their metal box account, and saving the game in the website's database rather than to the local machine. This would mean that you'd have to be online to save but it seems like most people have broadband now so maybe that would be ok?

Good one! I'll vote for 5.
I thought you had to be online to save anyway. I don't have broadband
No you don't have to be online to save on MR2.
Another advantage to saving your game on the server would be that you could continue from any other computer that is connected to the net.

Yea, my brother overwrote my account when I had almost beat the game. I got so mad. Multiple files is a good idea.
Wait you can play Merlins Revenge 2 When you arent online?!?!??!!? SOMEONE TELL ME HOW!
Morsh: If you're on dialup, you can load the game in your browser but then disconnect from the net to avoid running up the phone bill while you're playing. In MR2, the save game feature will still work even when you're disconnected.
oh nevermind then lol i already knew that, i thought you meant you could download it and save it to your computer... Steve could you possibly do that, like a downloadable version of MR2 that you could download once then play whenever? that would be so cool. you could also have MR1 too i still like to go back and play that one too
Theoretically yes. Though in practice MR2 doesn't seem to want to export as an .exe. The time it would take to track down why not isn't worth it.
:( its worth it to me (mainly because i wouldnt have to be the guy doing the work) i would really like having an offline merlis revenge 2. ooooooooo could you make a merlins revenge map maker for people to use?
I do intend to do a map maker at some later stage but it will be for mr3 and rapunzel.
More than one game you can save would be nice.
cool thanks steve i cant wait for that to come along
Nazgand AND Nazgand2 gave this a 5... interesting.
haz sum wun bin cheeting? like NAZGAND!! i dont why poeple would do that.......i guess they can only make horrible ideas and need to cheat to win, *sigh* some poeple just dont get the system of fairness.
Luckily, my little sister is too young to play on the computer and my brother has autism, so nothing can stop me from wasting Scarlet whenever I please! YAHOO!
saving becomes cheap as the game goes allong, so I think a saved game should be deleted when you die, and instead of going back to your save, you go back to a checkpoint, or whatnot, this prevents you from saving every level to cheaply never lose progress
Wasn't that the whole point of saving to begin with? lol
I am excited about:
