A while ago someone said that they had forgotten what was going to happen.
I would recomend thinking through the storyline and making an organised document with all this information. I am currently creating such a document and it has even helped me further develop the storyline, as well as helped me remember things buried deep into my memory. I've heard basically the same advice from authors over and over again and always used to think: "Why should I do that? Making up the storyline as I go along works fine! I don't need to do draughts over and over again either, writing it all once is good enough! I'm sure my method works just as well."
I never finished anything more than a short story that way. A lot of my book's storyline is undecided, but it's base is solid.
I'm not trying to control the way people work, but now that I'm doing it I wonder why I never tried it earlier.

MR ROX!, Wowo that's huge. I had a quick glance down it and noticed a quote from Terry Pratchett in there - BONUS POINTS! It looks good - you've obviously put in a lot of work there!

Red Runner, Yes, I support that. :)

Carefree_Butterfly, Great stuff!

Spamzor: I intend to add the Goblin mage to my story, which I have decided to start reformatting with images so that it doesn't appear in a big chunk that no-one can be bothered to read despite my effort :P

NEW! MR ROX!
Yeah, lol. i like putting quotes at the beggining of each of my chapters (they have to do with what will happen in the chapter). Ive worked on that for quite a while on and off, and so its progressing quite slowly...
Darren - ill read ur story - why arent u posting it up on the page here? r u going to just wait til u finish it? Oooh the suspense.....
I think I'm going to make a subseries with the army guys - ill see... it'll star Telfon. (I got the idea of making a subseries like this from Ender's Game's companion books, cause i know that they star 'Bean' - one of Enders best men in the first book. I cannot and will not copy any ideas or anything from those books, since i havent read them, so dont worry - my ideas arent gonna be plageurised off a great book, lol!
Im trying to make a guestbook on my website's main page, but for some reason im having some problems saving the page - uh oh....
If something happens, and u cant open the website sometime during the week, its probably cause i had to redo something, so check back again a day or so later if that happens...
Finally, I'm gonna post one of my older stories from a number of years ago - it was a sequel to a terrible and short book i did when I was about 8 (which is why its terrible), but i stopped it after about 70 (sorta small) pages, since a lot of it didnt make sense, such as the timeline, relative to the first one, and within that one. It still doesnt have such great writing, but i think its decent. I was wondering if any1 thought i should continue it, and i would revise the stuff a bit, or if i should just leave it. If i leave it, then ill probably end up name the 'Shadow' people from my newer story, the 'Kolornians' which are from the older story that i stopped. This is because i had many good ideas for the Kolornians in terms of how they worked, fought, and lived (although i dont think id implemented these ideas into my older story).

I think right now, the only way ull be able to comment on my website is through the guestbook (which is not yet working), where u can write comments and stuff. In that case, u can make more than one guestbook entry, lol. (ex: i would make an entry first from MR ROX!, then from MR ROX!1, then MR ROX!2, then MR ROX!3, etc....)

I hope this all works out - im relly busy right now, and i really dont know how much time ill have to work on all this, but i hope ill have time!!!!!

Thnx for looking,
MR ROX!

====Legend of the Scarlet Wizard====

Part I
.:The Angry Wizard:.

"My lord it was he-" panted the weary orc captain, "-he came and, he-" *pant* "-he took it! He and his treacherous friend Berlin! They obliteradted Shahraek, he couldn't stand up to their combined might. I saw them destroy every single orc in our home. Sir, he has stolen the sacred scroll! He can summon beasts to match our own! He is becoming more powerful than you predicted!"
"Yes that pest, Merlin, is certainly causing a bit of trouble," The Scarlet Wizard croaked in his most unnatural voice. "You say Berlin helped to slay Shahaek?" he asked.
"I saw him burn my family alive, my comrades, and I saw," he shuddered, "Mer- the blue one, I saw him fry Shahraek to death, keeping him under constant fire and not once, giving him the chance to fight back. "the noble wizard" my ***!"
The Scarlet wizard laughed, a terrible melicious laugh that echoed through out his palace. "He is indeed unwerthy of such a tittle!" Steals my spells, destroys my lands! what did I ever do to him!"
The orc looked at his lord dubiously, "you did kidnap his brother, lure him past the invisible tree of forgetfulness, and i'm sure you've done some other mea-" The orc realised what he had just said and expected to be vaporized then and there. But The Scarlet Wizard hadn't been listening! not a word! He had been plotting, plotting against the evil Merlin, the one who just had to destroy all his hopes and dreams.
Well at least he doesn't have my beautiful golden machine gun...

===Legend Of The Scarlet Wizard===

Part II
.:The Really Angry Wizard:.

"My Lord" came a menacing whisper from behind the orc captain. "I fear to tell you that ou- your beloved Golden Machine Gun has been," *gulp* "stolen"
The Scarlet Wizard was seething with rage now!"How dare he! That little blue piece of- AAAARRGH!!! I'll kill him!" The orc captain who had been given quite a fright from both the deathly whisper and his lord's tantrum turned around to see Neroth the head necromancer, one of the Scarlet Wizard's most trusted advisors.
"My Lord," came the necromancer's whisper, "we believe he's heading this way as we speak. I would advise you to lure him into your domain and then crush him with all your monstrous power."
The Scarlet Wizard scowled, "very well i shall wait! ready your Necromancers Neroth, We shall destroy that vermin, Merlin."
The Orc Captain chuckled, "vermin, Merlin. That rhymes!" he thought.
But the Scarlet Wizard thought he laughing at him. The Scarlet Wizard hates it when people laugh at him!
He turned to the orc captain. "what's so funny orc!" The orc didn't know what to do or what to say. He'd seen plenty of people in this situation before. But none of them lived much longer.
"I know," said the Scarlet Wizard, "Let's see who's laughing when your being burnt alive like the rest of those orcs you told me about!" He waved his arms and cast a spell so that the orc could no longer move. then he gestured for two dragons to come over. "burn him!" he said.
He laughed his most unnatural laugh, a laugh that he had laughed earlier. It struck fear into the nearby spirits and creatures. A flower wilted away and died. The Scarlet Wizard's evil laugh echoed through out the fortress. It mingled with the shrill screams of the burning orc captain. creating a terrifying force of evil.
Neroth sensed it and absorbed it, becoming stronger and more powerful. He fed on the surrounding evil. It's why i took the job, he remebered.
Finally the orc was burnt. "when Merlin gets here. We will surely destroy him."
"He doesn't stand a chance my lord." agreed Neroth.

To Be Continued

Introduction to my next story:

Well, I, Merlin, the Great, the Blue, the Wizard, have had a terrible adventure in the Swamp. Let's see. I've been torn apart by hydras, I've been evil to my "dwarf", I've "lost" most of my army becuase of my "dwarf" because he was bad at commandeering, then my "dwarf" started firing Energy Blast, and he started exploding, and turns out to be the Ochre Wizard who kidnapped my army, and I had to take them back with my own Army Summon.

So maybe there really is something wrong with the swamp.

Maybe I'm going insane.

Maybe this is supposed to happen?

Well, I was obligated to continue my ponderings when I realized something, something reported to me by Berlin, who resorted as our chef.

"Um, Merlin?" He asked in a worried tone.

"Yes, Berlin?" I answered, hoping it wouldn't be an issue that would bother my deep thought.

"I don't wish to alarm you," he said in a rather calm tone,"but I think it is time I brought to your attention about our food rations."

"Yes...?" I asked, feeling a bit worried.

"Well," Berlin hesitated. "I think you know that the meat from dead hydras is highly toxic. And we have been in the Swamp for about 20 days and our food is only to last about 25, and we've only conquered a little over 2/3 of the swamp. And fact is, after the Great Knight did some scouting, well, he found that the screens behind us have been reinhabited."

I was about to scold the Great Knight for scouting without my command, but then I realized the more important issue. Then the situation had dawned on me. We were in the middle of the swamp, we were running low on food, and we had been entrapped, caved in in the swamp.

I did not say anything.

"What do you think we should do?" He asked, in a slightly more worried tone, as if his talking to me had convinced himself a bit more about our situation.

I have faced dangers, I have faced attitudes, I have faced many things, but NEVER, NEVER have I ever been worries by food.

Until now. While most screen had harmful creatures, all lands had edible plants and edible animals. But the swamp, it was a toxic, gas filled wasteland.

We have noticed the foul smells, and the poisons that lay in the swamp. And we found nothing that was edible. When the Exhalted Knight had tried a grass which looked like a dandelion green, he had acidic burns on his mouth and could not battle for several days.

We had planned on our food to last about 40 days, but this had been cut down because a lot of the food had spoiled in the polluted zone of the Swamp.

So, obviously, we're faced with 2 crisises. How to fight the hydras, and how to do it on an empty, possibly starving stomache.

-------------------
Well, that's just a introduction.

NEW! MR ROX!
I think i mightve said this/submitted it earlier this week in a comment, but in case i didnt ill say it again, just to clarify.
Ive been working on the story on my website (Man of Power, Man of Strength - Kevin) for almost a year (obviously i havent worked on it too often throughout the year or it would be much longer!). Also its not a story about MR or anything, which ud obviously realize once u start reading. just wanted to make sure every1 knew that lol.

anyways, next chapter in the MR story, comin up!:

THE SOLDIER IN THE NIGHT

Chapter 9

Victory's Road - Lead Me!

"What has passed?
A glorious year,
Filled with happiness,
And sweet tears.

"Yet some find not,
The fresh wheat each year,
Harvested from the ground.
They find - what they call -
Victory's road.
And at Victory's road they fell."

My army waits, still. They are all gathered in front of me, sitting on small patches of grass between rocks, or if they cant find one, standing.
They are anxious, twitching uncomfortably in their spaces, changing poisitions. But they listen intently for what I have to say. Is it good news, bad news? None know, but Telfon and I. Is it a festive occasion, or has another member of the army fallen captive to Death. They look around, and see no one missing.

I continued to murmer,
"Day and night
They followed and fought,
Faced Death,
Along with all that it brought.

"Yet who could let,
Any one of these men,
Lead a normal life?
They must follow - what they call -
Victory's road,
And at Victory's road they fell."

Some of my army, finally settling down, began to notice that I was already speaking. The words they all knew all too well, as did every soldier in all the lands. Those who did hear, began to join in, closing their eyes, forgetting their fears.

"The soldiers,
Were all born into it.
All lineage,
No choice.

"Yet they took the role with honor,
And pride,
And they cried out
'Victory's Road - lead me!'"

By now, they whole group had joined in. It was not loud and racous but rather soft and graceful. It was a feeling, one that all of them shared.
I stopped reciting the poem, and the others stopped too.
"You know who you are! Soldiers, born into the honorable role. You know what you do! You fight! For the good of this land and all it's peoples and wizards and dwarves and other allies. You know your importance! Without you, all the lands would be overrun, chaos and anarchy the simplest of our worries."
I could tell I was gathering up piles of energy from within the small army. They were on there toes, or squatting as if about to cheer on my speech.
"Our lives, our being, our very ESSENCE, is a part of this life. We fight our enemies, strive to survive our perils. We mourn for our losses, rejoice for our wins. We talk and laugh, we sit and weep.
"And for the last many days we've been running. First we ran from the magical alliance, whom we were not yet strong enough to fight. Then we ran from the bats, and desert. But now, we must face decisions. Face reality. We are not invincible, and we cannot survive off this for much longer." I gestured towards our short supply of food. "So I leave you with three choices, none of which are going to be easy."
A rumble of whispers circulated throughout the group of men.
"I lay the three choices before you now. Tomorrow, you will tell me your decisions.
The first option, is to head north, into the belly of the beast. Rock golems and their stronger counterparts volcanoe, or fire, golems lie there, destroying all in their path. To the east are the caves. We all know what lies there - the fang bunnies, as they are called by most, and some more bats. The last choice is to return in the direction we came, into the desert, wandering in a new direction and hoping to find real vegetation. Choose wisely, for it my determine your fate.
You may leave."
But they did not leave. Instead, as if they were one entity, each knowing their other's thoughts, they continued the poem.

"They rode nothing,
Carried only swords,
Against the oncoming hordes,
Of goblins.

"They let out their war cry,
Flung out their bodies,
One, two, three dead soldiers,
On - what they call -
Victory's Road.
And on Victory's Road they fell.

It continued on and on, for hours, while we marched towards the golems. For when they recited the poem, it was clear: their duty was to be a hero. And to do that, the had to follow the path towards the golems, or - what they called - Victory's Road.
And they chanted:
"Victory's Road - lead me!"

It echoed throught the mountains.

The golems were awakened.

TO BE CONTINUED....

I wanted to make that longer, but i had no time.
Anyways, I hope I did that poem well - without it the chapter doesnt have nearly as much meaning.

Thnx for looking,
MR ROX!

Ha ha, Nice Stories. Time for me to join the Fray!

Shades of Blue (MR3 Redux)

Merlin sat calmly on the sturdy oak chair in the Wizard's council, right next to a large wooden table, a chair for each member of the council. every tap of his shoes beneath his blue robes echoed throughout the empty chamber. "Rather Sorry bout the wait, Merlin." A calm, deep voice appeared from nowhere. "It's all right, I suppose." In a wisp of smoke, and a odd, popping sound, Ulin appeared right next to merlin. he sat down to the nearest chair right next to merlin. "Any news?" Ulin nodded, stroking his long beard. "Ochre." Waving his hands in a swift motion, a map popped out of nowhere, gently landing into the wood below. "He has been seen over here." Ulin pointed his finger right to the end of the side of the map. "And let me guess, I'm over here." Merlin pointed a finger right to the over side. "Blackie and his minions do like making some distance from you, Hmmm?" Ulin said mockingly. "Maybe. All I need are the bullets for the GMG, and I'm set." Ulin raised a finger, but paused. Silence passed through the chamber for quite some time, at least to merlin. "I do not know where they are, Merlin. This is quite a large land you'll be navigating. Besides, who's to say that Blacks is gonna be there?" Merlin shook his head. "He'll try to get it first with his forces. If I don't get it before he does, We have no hope of getting out." Ulin nodded, stroking his beard once more. "Yes, Yes, I understand. However, we have made a change or two with some spells.." Merlin raised an eyebrow. "We are giving you an army to fight with." Merlin nodded, then said, "I'll need as much help. What are the troops?" Ulin waved his hand over the map. The ink dissapeared, and new images came upon the parchment. "Archers, Worriors, Monks, Dwarfs... You're set.." Merlin hastily grabbed the map. "Right. I have no time to lose.. Ochre could be coming toward me.." As if on cue, a shout was heard from behind the gray stone walls. "Goblins! And they've got new forces!"

The Swamp

Part Three

Starvation
==========

Yes. I, Merlin the Great, the Blue, the Wizard, are in a spot of trouble.

It is clear to me that we have lost our food rations due the the swamp air, for it acidic atmosphere. And it is clear we will not be able to forage for more, in the toxic swamp, for its acidic sludge. And it is clear we cannot go back the path we came from, for it has been reinhabited.

And it is clear, my army and I are in a spot of trouble.

I was sitting on my small bunk inside my small tent, that was small and easy to carry... and thinking.

What will we do? Food is of the essence, and the essence does not appear present in the swamp. The only thing that appears in the swamp, is acid. Rancididy, acidity, and poison. The Great Archer, was a rather useful unit this time. He identified a lot of the plants that were in the swamp.

He pointed to the grass that the Exhalted Knight had mistaken for the dandelion green...

"Snakeweed," He said. "It is very acidic, and is fearful as it is one of the few plants that can carry acids in its body."

He pointed to a pink, light coloured flower.

"Rat Bead," He said. "Don't let the light, delicate pedals fool you. It has a very poisonous substance in its pedals, and stem and leaves. It will break down your brain like your stomache juices and what they do with food.

And pointed to a "ivy" with eyes.

"I am not sure of its character..." He admitted, "but those eyes tell you not to eat it."

Those were just some of the plants.

And we all knew that the meat from hydras were deadly sour, and acidic.

So, while I was in my tent pondering, I decided this was not a decision to be made by me.

"Army!" I barked.

"Yes, master!" They replied, as they turned their attention to me.

"I think it is time I told you of our current problem." I declared. "We have 5 days of food left, and we have journeyed only 2/3 of the way into the swamp, doing which took us 10 days. We have no food in the swamp, and we cannot go back as the trail has been reinhabited. I need feedback, now."

"Master," Said the Great Knight. "I say that we devote all food to you, as you are our humble leader that has saved us from monsters. You are our reason we still exist. And I declare you should be our only person to indulge food, as we owe you, and you do not owe us at all."

"Yes!" Agreed my army.

I was flattered that my army was prepared to face starvation while I was given top priority of food. But I could not. Either we all eat or starve.

"No," I replied. "There is no way I will allow only 1 person to eat, we will all eat, or none."

"But, Master," The Great Knight pressed. "We are your ser-"

"No, you are not!" I cut off. "You are not my servant, you are my army, and my friends. I will not allow the army to be unbalance, having some people eating and some not."

Everyone in my army started talking.

"Quiet!" I ordered. "I am not willing to discuss who deserves to eat and who does not. I want us to stay a team, and a team it shall be."

Everyone quited down.

"Well," said Robin Arrowman, "then obviously we are to journey forward as best we can."

I had agreed. So did everyone else.
----------
Well, the first day, we ate and cleared a screen.

So did we on the 2nd day.

On the 3rd day, we rationed, but ate almost our daily amount.

On the 4rth day, we tried to ration, but an overload of hyrda3s forced us to eat most of a daily amount.

On the 5th day, we managed to eat only 1/2 of the normal amount we ate.

And, sadly, on the 6th day, we finished our food. Also, that day, our entire army had felt tired, sick, and hungry.

The 7th day, we attempted to clear a screen, but the fact that we didn't get food meant we couldn't fight, and we retreated to the last screen.

My army was beat, some were severely injured, and all were starting to lose their tempers.

And we were probably going to die.

The Soldier in the Night

Chapter 10

The Wizard and Sevaan

Night-time. I lay back, stretched across a canvas staring upwards at all the dots in the sky. There was the constellation called Wizard. It was said that whenever a wizard was born, a new star was created in that constellation, and whenever one died, a star disappeared from the constellation. All legends of course, but no one could really say whether it was true or not.
And then next to it, with an arrow knocked in his bow, was the distinct shape of Sevaan, the mythical archer. It was said that he waged war against the wizards all his life, killing many good people, and then when he died, he went up to the stars and made a spot for himself next to the Wizard, pointing his bow and arrow towards the Wizard's heart.
Those who really believe in those legends sometimes also say that they wage the wars of the stars up there, too far for us to see, and Sevaan and the Wizard are in eternal battle. Of course nowadays, there were very few believers in those types of things.
Suddenly there was a flash of flaming light in the sky, with the clouds. It passed across Sevaan's constellation's knocked arrow perfectly, dissipating right as it passed through the Wizard. More followed the first soon after, some of them going off course a bit.
I sat bolt upright and stared across the valley towards the mountains on the other side, from where the fire was spewing. There they were, volcanoe golems, at least a hundred and fifty meters tall and almost as wide, with rock golems at their sides.
What were they doing? I waited for something to happen. Not a second later I got the answer to my question, as dozens more blasts of fire flew through the air towards the same spot, from surrounding mountains.
The golems had almost completely surrounded us on all the mountaintops! The camp was wide awake and staring with awe at the mighty spectacle before us. If one did not have to fight all the creatures who were making them, one would have said that the fire the released was a beautiful sight against the night sky.
A few days and they'd be on us, and we would be the Wizard in sky, fire going through our stomachs. Bad thoughts.
The show of flame stopped and the night was still once more. There was nothing to do but go to sleep and be well rested for what would surely be the toughest fight in our lives the following day.
Sure enough, soon we were all asleep, and before we knew it it was morning and everyone was talking as if it was a normal day. Chatting nonsense, telling stories about some of their experiences, sharing secrets, laughing.
We decided we would not move forward much, but rather let the golems come to us. Why waste energy when the odds are against us already? Therefore, the following hours were killed by just talking. Towards the end of the day I reviewed the plan with my army.
My archers would sorround me as I stayed in the middle of them with Ceirus and Telfon. Using my energy blast, I would send volley after volley of searing energy towards the front lines of golems, keeping them at bay as well as I could. The archers, after some golems advanced in range of shooting us, would then release their arrows upon the oncoming enemies. Telfon would wait till there were much fewer golems, or he would be crushed almost instantly, and then he would get too work slashing the golems in their legs in order to tumble them.
As simple and efficient as the plan was, there were only nine of us, and at least sixty of them. Strong as we were, they were nearly the same, espescially in their great numbers. The land would be wreaked with havoc like these mountains hadnt seen in years.

The sun was setting by the time the ground began to vibrate. Within the hour, the rumbling turned into a sound not unlike thunder, and soon they were in sight. We got into position quickly as they slowly advanced.

And then they were in my range.

"We fight now!" I yelled out. "'Till we die!"
"'Till we die!" My soldiers cried.
"With honor we fight. Prepare for the first attack!" I thundered. Energy appeared above my head faster than ever, and as soon as it was at least five times my size, I released it into the densest crowd of golems.
One after the other I shot the blasts, all around me, as my army cheered me on. Some were singing, and some were just chanting my name wildly.
"Merlin! Merlin! Merlin!" Was the continuous shout.
As the golems advanced, the volcanoe golems pounded the ground with jets of molten lava and rock. None of them reached us yet, however sprays of sparks flew up from the shaking ground.
I was beggining to grow tired, when a large rock smacked the ground ten times the speed of the fastest arrow within seventy meters of our formation, sending shards of rock into our midst. My attack broke off for a second, and two more rocks hit close to our station. The archers let loose a volley of arrows, yet they still could not reach the nearest golems.
One of my archers got hit by a large piece of rock, and was flung back from the force, his back slamming into the ground. He was dead instantly.
After at least an hour, one of the rocks, flying through the darkening night, now barely visible, killed another of my archers.
Not long later, one of my archers hit with an arrow.
There was a loud war cry and all the archers let loose their arrows, many of them striking their target. I realized my vision was blurred from all the magic use as I saw a large volcanoe golem and rock golem fall in a mix of ashes and rock.
Despite the several golems we had taken down by now, the battle was looking bad. Yet it continued, and hours passed.

The ground was seared with fire and mud, turned up from the ground. two more of my archers had died, and Kard was severely wounded with a small shard of hot rock implanted firmly in the lower part of his left leg, along with a few major burns around it. Suddenly, a few molten rocks along with some plain ones struck the ground at once. An odd resonance emanated from the earth, and to my horror, the ground began to split and crack and shake.
"Earthquake!" I yelled violently, my words torn away in the thunderous noise. Of course, it was not needed to be said.
I stared intently at the spreading cracks in the earth, and to my amazement the majority of them spread towards the golems! Then, in one swift motion, the first line of golems fell to the ground, and soon more were collapsing in heaps of rock and lava.
The first crack reached us, and we ran for our lives. In my blurred vision, I saw someone stumble and fall, and realized it was Kard. Telfon had stopped and began running back to help him.
"Telfon, wait!" I yelled, but he could not hear me.
Frantically I dug for my blue summoning scroll. I found it and pulled it out. The blue sphere formed above my head and I released it, quickly followed by another, one aimed at Kard and one at Telfon. Suddenly a crack spread out right beside Kard and the ground underneath him convulsed wildly, sending him flying. My blast missed. Our of the corner of my eye I saw Telfon disappear as the unsummon blast hit him.
Tears gathering in my eyes, I sent more and more unsummon blasts at Kard, putting all my strength into them. But then, in a split second, Kard disappeared into an abyss within a crack, unreachable by any spell.
Dead.

To be continued......

I meant to change the name of chapter 10 which i just submitted, but forgot to. It should be called:

The name which I put for this chapter will almost for sure be used for the next chapter (11) or the one after (12), but not for sure...

Have fun reading it and all of my others and all the other stories on this page which r all awesome!!!!!!! (also, i think my new chapter, chapter 10, was very long.... its hard to tell though so it might not be so much.

Thnx for looking,
MR ROX!

MR ROX, you cease to amaze me.

The Swamp

Part Four

The history, of the Merlin Army
==============

I, Merlin the Great, was unable take control of my army.

My troops were arguing, shouting, and even attacking each other. Robin Arrowman flung an arrow straight into the Great Knight's sheild, and as the Great Knight stared at the arrow enbedded in his beloved sheild, he charged at Robin Arrowman and dealt a mightly slash that did a serious cut to his bow.

I had to control my army, or their battle weapons and themselves would be destroyed by each other.

I thought to myself. A team destroys itself. By doing this, they have relinquished their ability to fight for me, thereby forfeiting their promise to me as loyal, and betray me.

Well, I couldn't let that happen!

I immediately started throwing quick (but small) energy blasts. Everyone got stopped, but the Grand Archer actually fired an arrow at me, and I was horrified at his reponse to his master as the arrow whizzed by my neck.

So obviously I'd have to engage in a more lighter discipline, rather than have my entire army against me.

"Ok, everyone! Listen!" I hollered.

Everyone was instanly slient, their shoutings immediately stopped. They did so, because of the huge energy blast they saw, hovering above my head.

So, that's how I'm controlling my army? With threats? I will have to do better.

I decided to engage a group conversation.

"Ok, everyone! We all know that we have names, right?!" I asked.

My army said nothing.

"Well, we're going to announce our names, rather than our titles, like the Grand Archer, or the Great Knight! Great Knight, you go first!"

"Well," began the Great Knight, and with an obviously less argumentive tone,"my name is Arleton. I was grown in the Military Bush, since my father was the commander of the Military Bush."

"Yes, very interesting." I commented. It was, nice to know about their histories.

"I," announced the Exhaulted Knight,"am called Torrin, and I grew up to become a soldier, and fight against evil, because my parents, poor farmers, were killed spinadrids, and before that, our house destroyed by an evil wizard. To this day, I have become a soldier, to fight against the cruel and evil monsters that have lost my parents, the ones who were my gods of existance. I serve you, Merlin, as you are in a similar quest, to defeat monsters."

"Well, I know for a fact you'd make your parents proud, because of the tough fighting to do against their killers." I said.

Torrin smiled, with a small tear rolling down his cheek. Small, but carrying a lot of emotion and meaning.

"I, am," announced the Grand Archer pompously, "Altevar, the Grand Archer. I used to be an explorer, but after I met a hero goblin archer, I decided that it was too dangerous for me to explore alone, and when you, Merlin, had saved me, I deemed you my loyalty, as I would serve anyone who saves my life, and because you will do exploring like none other wizard would do."

I said nothing. I don't know why.

"I, am Grazzart the Robin Arrowman. I was a student of the hero Robin Hood, and after he died, I decided I would try to become as fabulous an archer as he. And what better way to get powerful than by journeying with a great wizard?"

"As you all know, I am Berlin. I am the brother of Merlin, and we lost our parents, after the Magical Alliance had captured them, wasted them to ghosts, and before they could regenerate, wasted them to spirits, and wasted them to oblivion. We now deem revenge against the Magical Alliance for the death of our parents, and we seek true power to destroy them for good."

I remembered the loss of our parents, and I started to cry.

My parents had just showed us how to use Energy Pellet, a very weak form of Energy Blast, as Berlin and I were very little. Then, a portal opened, and mages spewed out. In a moment, the scene had changed from some wizards teaching wizaldry, to a warscene of flashing bombs, and thundering explosions.

"Run!" Cried our father. "And remember!"

"We... love.... y-you.... t-t-ake... c-c-c-ar-care..." managed our mother, as she was wasted away, constantly being bombarded, until she no longer existed, and would not ever speak to us again.

"P-p-please, Brother B-B-Berlin," I quivered.

"And, I am Brother Berlin, the Brother Berlin, and he is Brother Ulin, the Brother Ulin."

Everyone laughed. But Berlin and I were silent.

My army was in a much brighter mood. Yes, it will be still hard to cnoquer more screens, as we probably had about 3 left. But we were prepared. And mine, and probably Berlin's, had become tears of rage, not sadness. We would destroy the Magical Alliance, and anything that gets into our way while doing so.

----------------

So, watching MR ROX's story, everyone had a real name, when my troops had mostly titles, not names. And what better time to find out than in a time of crises?

Uh...as you can see, I haven't finished, though because I want pictures in my story it won't be here anyway.
I'm such a busy person (especially as I'm now back at school) that I still haven't got around to transfering my story to my PC.
Hopefully the prologue will be up next week, though probably without pics. We'll see.
Epic as ever, MR ROX!. Good work!
And everyone else. The swamp situation is cool also. TO THE NEXT SUGGESTION!!!

first of all i really liked carefreebutterfly's and Mr. Rox's latest stories. I just got back from camp today and this is the second thing i did!

===Legend Of The Scarlet Wizard===

Meanwhile in a a far away dark tower...

"Hmmmmm," thought the black cloaked figure, his crimson eyes burning through the dim light of his top floor study, "this Merlin is proving to be quite a challenge for my good old Scarlet. No pitty! No remorse! He kills his enemies in an instant and summons them back with only loyalty for himself! He uses the golden machine gun far better than Scarlet ever did!"

"If only i could bend him to my will! But how? He certainly possesses enough dark qualities. He has slaughtered living creatures by the hundreds! But there is something within him that makes me think i shan't brake his mind easily. Besides Scarlet may yet prove to be a greater sorcerer."

"What does this remind me of?" Hmmm, Lord Of The... no no! It's umm, Star Wars, yes of course! Merlin will be my Luke and Scarlet my Vader!

I shall have Merlin and he will destroy every last great and righteous wizard. For I see in him, the greatest sorcerer who ever lived!
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAA!!!

To Be Continued

btw Red Runner and anyone else:
At the moment this is mr2 from another angle. and it will develope into a war story! this is just the lead up. It will then develope into an alternate mr3, sr1 to be exact.

Yeah, er, I decided to do a story about a Knight, one that Merlin would use, but is not using. This is because I'm tired of having to wait for my previous "Merlin" story to come out before I can write again.

Knight

Chapter One

A goblin.

The filthy creatures, ones that actually have the intelligence to fire with a bow and use a sword...

The great goblin swordsman had invaded my territory. I picked up my sword... shining from my recent polishings... and my sheild.

My shield, unlike my my sword, wasn't very new. It had several slashes, cuts, and depressions where arrows had sunk in. No matter, my trustworthy sheild would always help me in a time of need.

And with my equipment, I went to face the goblin swordsman.

He struck the first blow, and I fell backward. Nothing much had happened to me, thanks to my sheild, but it got the goblin the advantage, and he continuosly attacked, pounding furiously.

I allowed him to, a tactic that worked well with goblins. They have no sense of pace... they will pound for as long as they can as hard as they can... and run out of energy at the end.

I realized that I was taking in a several savage blows, so I decided now it was time to start fighting. I took my sword, and heaved it upon the goblin's body.

The goblin, already gasping for air, took in amazing damage, and not having a shield made him lose a lot of health.

I heaved it again, dealing heavy damage.

And just when I was about to swing my heavy sword again, an arrow struck me from behind!

I turned around... there it stood... a goblin archer!

The filthy thing had used a bow against me!

I immediatly ran towards the goblin. But, I had to stop and block myself from another arrow. Then, when I reached him, I heaved my sword.

The goblin made a quick move, and dodged my sword.

I heaved again, and missed again.

Finally, I got so agitated that I threw my sword at him. And it stuck straight into his body, and he fell... plunged into the river, and was washed away.

No!!! I lost my sword!

It wasn't just any sword... this sword was the sword that was used to kill a rock golem, the huge towering monsters that whipped huge boulders that could crush any soldier!

So, I decided I would have to get to the city of Athalina, where I would purchase a new sword, though, it would not be as good as my old one, for I had little money right now.

But there stood the goblin swordsman, still alive.

He charged toward me dealing a blow, but it was still absorbed by my sheild, which I still had.

I stepped on a stick. Not powerful, but better to use than punching.

I picked up the stick, and struck the goblin with it. Then, the goblin snorted, like a laugh, and we continued fighting.

Whilst he had a better weapon, I had a sheild, and he didn't have one at all.

And using my stick, I decided to poke him, and kept on doing it.

When I poked him, he slashed his sword, almost cutting my stick.

With a stick, I couldn't do damage to the goblin, and the goblin couldn't damage me. So, I decided to get a little backup. I pulled a heavy metal object out of my pocket.

A shuriken, given to me by a ninja. I had spared a powerful ninja, and as a token of gratitude, he gave me 10 shurikens.

I whipped it at the goblin, and it caught it at the throat.

Severely wounded, I used my stick to kill him.

I thought about taking his sword, which was in fact, a good sword, but I decided no human would have the dishonour to use an item of a goblin.

I found it carried a few gold coins, and I pocketed them before burying it respectfully, as he had been an honourable enemy, no matter how much I hated him.

I started trekking to Athalina, and when I reached the moat, I showed the guard my Palace Medal, one that was awarded to me when I had killed 10 goblins when a small army had invaded the city, and were seeking to get into the palace.

"You may pass," said the guard.

When I got in, I saw a beautiful haven, with trees, markets, and a general paradise.

I went to the sword shop, one that I visited often, to purchase weapons.

I saw a curved cutlass, one that I was sure I could do wonders with.

"How much for the cutlass?" I asked.

"The cutlass is 500 gold coins," the merchant replied.

"500!!!" I shouted.

"Yes, swords are getting expensive," He said,"but this sword is special, because it is the same cutlass used by the pirate "Captain Black", the one mighty one, that was found on Shipwreck Island."

"Oh," I said, and I left.

500 gold coins??!! I had only 13, and I only recieved 10 from the king for my defence of the castle.

Perhaps, I could be of some more use to him, to earn myself some more gold?

I walked to the castle, showed my Palace Medal, and went to speak to the king, King Lucas.

"Could I be of any use to you, your Majesty?" I asked.

"Yes, I need you kill the goblins in Gortol, and bring back all their weapons. After which, I will let you have 40 gold coins, and a share of the sword." He answered. "But, if you keep all the swords, then you will definitly not get the next badge of the palace, one that will be required to pass the Trollem Gate."

"The Trollem Gate, will be requiring a badge?" I asked. It was a gate to a place where Palace Knights relaxed, with great comfort, and were given small amounts of money everyonce in a while."

"Yes, before, you needed to use your Palace Medal, but now, if you wish to go in, you will need the Palace Medal, but to go to the Death Woods, you will need a Palace Badge." Replied the king.

"Thank you, your majesty," And I left.

I knew that overtaking an entire tribe would be impossible by just one soldier. There were bound to be at least 50, all that would shoot arrows and slash anyone to death.

I would need help... and I just know who to help me...

I feel really bad.

I feel like TERRIBLE.

I can't believe that both of my stories turned out so horribly.

I don't really feel like writing my story anymore...

And I was also disappointed MR ROX didn't add a new story...

I feel sad...

I feel like I have failed, breaking the chain of the continuous stories streak of good stories I was making, and I feel like I will won't continue very well, having my streak broken.

Oh, well, it was fun while it lasted.

Maybe I just need to think up an idea, as right now I am in a serious case of unhappiness, and writer's block.

I might start writing again...

THE SOLDIER IN THE NIGHT

Chapter 11

Alone

"Kard was almost always cheerful, almost always in a good mood. Without him, our spirits might have broken a long time ago.
He was a good friend of me. Of all of us, really. He - he was a -" I forced down my welling tears.
"He was a great archer, always brave. He helped take on the bats, to drive them away. He -" A tear fell down my cheek, and slipped onto the ground. "He made me laugh. Made me happy when times were hard, made me -" I couldn't continue. My face became wet with the crystal-like tears that flowed from my eyes, with such beauty, with such sorrow.
"I am sorry, Kard. May you rest in peace."
We proceeded to fill the grave with dirt and tears, taking turns shoveling some in, burying his bow, which we had found on the ground near to where he had fallen. It was the only physical memory we had left of him.
At the end, we found a large stone and upon it I inscribed with fine touches of energy the words:
Here lies Kard Siddel,
A brave archer and a good friend to many.
May he rest in piece.

We set up camp by his grave for the rest of the night. I found a couple hours of sleep, but the rest of the night I lay awake.

Morning came, bright as ever, lighting up the land's chaotic mess. We spent the day resting. We didn't budge one bit. I sent my army to their reserve, where they would be able to sleep in peace, although Telfon insisted to stay to gaurd me. Another night came quickly, and with it a longer sleep, although still a shallow one.

I woke up with a jolt. It was pitch black outside. I peered around my tent, keeping all but my head still. Telfon was sound asleep with sword by his pillow.
A stone rolled into the tent. There was someone outside, and whoever it was was not a part of my army. Suddenly, the tent flap opened up.
"Kard?" I whispered, astonished.
He moved closer, seemed to think for a few seconds, then said, "Yes, it is I!"
Telfon stirred.
"I thought you were dead! How - how did you survive?"
He stopped once again to think, and finally responded, "I don't know... What happened?" He moved closer.
"There was an earthquake, remember? I tried to save you Kard! I - I'm sorry I didn't come back to look... I -"
"Don't worry about it." He was standing right above me now. He began to draw a sword from a sheath at his waist. Since when did Kard have a sword?
Telfon snapped awake in an instant, and jumped at him, tackling him to the ground.
"Telfon, what are you doing? It's Kard!" I cried.
Telfon punched him, and Kard fell unconscious. Telfon turned to stare at me strangely and said, "That is a goblin, Merlin, and he was about to slit your throat."
I stared at the being again. I shut my eyes and reopened them. Telfon was right, it was a goblin swordsman.
"Go back to sleep, Merlin. You are tired." Telfon said. He grabbed a sword and killed the goblin.

"Rise and shine, Merlin! It's already nearing noon!"
My eyes fluttered and closed again.
"You've been sleeping for ten hours, Merlin! Come on and get up. We have to move."
"What happened last night, Telfon?" I mumbled, my eyes slowly opening.
"I believe you were hallucinating Merlin. You should summon down a couple more warriors tonight, that way at night we can take shifts gaurding you. I think you're still getting over Kard's death, and short sleep isn't helping it." He came over to me and touched my forehead. "Your burning up, Merlin. I'll go get you some water. There's a spring just five or so miles down that way." He pointed towards the mountains.
"Yeah, whatever. Thanks Telfon. Once again I owe you my life." I got up and dressed into my blue robes. "Hey, at least that means we'll probably be taking a break from all that fighting! I bet another reason for this fever is 'cause of all that magic usage. It'll be nice to stop for a bit."
Telfon buckled on his sword and started heading out towards the mountains. "I wouldn't count on it. If a goblin tried to kill you last night, there's probably a camp of 'em somewhere out there."
I watched him go, and sat down on the rocky earth, brooding over the past events. At least half an hour passed. All of a sudden, my head began to feel dizzy. It must be the heat. I began to turn around to head into my tent when I saw Kard.
I blinked a few times, and stared at him. "Kard?" I yelled out in hope. "Kard!" I yelled. He turned to face me. Suddenly fifty more Kards came into my view. I squinted out at them, confused. "Kard?" I whispered. All the Kards were getting closer. Closer. I began to jerk my head back and forth, and my face twitched. Whispers gathered in my head. 'You could have saved me, Merlin. You missed. You weren't strong enough. You let me die, Merlin. You let me -" I screamed and grabbed my head in my hands. My nails dug into my skin.
"Something's gotten into that man's head sir. I don't know... You sure he's the wizard?"
"Yes, I'm sure. Now grab him! The Master is waiting."
"Yes, sir."
I felt someone grab me and haul me into a wagon. I was gagged.
I fainted.

Gawd, I love you guys!!

I found out the reason why I felt so depressed...

Well, I did make 2 under-standard stories, but it is more related to school.

No, I am not a juvinile delinquent who gets nailed by the principle all day long...

Well, I am at a school that is FAR away, and I have to take the city bus for hours each day, and I'm trying to learn to play the trumpet at at school, and I have been being run down into the ground.

But, today, I got a HUGE commendation from my music teacher, which made me really happy, since she said I did amazing on the trumpet, so I plan to write a story today...

Anyways... MR ROX... awesome story!!! Sweet job!

You did terrific!

Thanks, "u".

Yeah, I got a big moral boost, and I'm ready for some writing. By the way, I think I'm going to be changing the title The Swamp.

The Swamp

Part 4

Toxic Death

Well, we were really hungry, and we had to get out.

I had worked out a brilliant plan. I called it the "Bait'n'Smash".

Basically, my swordsmen, Arleton and Torrin (Grand Knight and Exhaulted Knight) would run close to the hydras, so that the hydras would go after them.

My archers, however, would do some serious smashing with their bows from a far distance, and so would Berlin and I.

When we went into the infested screen, we assumed our positions.

My 2 swordsmen started running around, and my archers along with me and Berlin started attacking the hydras.

It worked out pretty well, for a few moments.

I had realized 2 things... my swordsmen were quite powerful, and it was hard defeating the hydras without their power, and also that the lack of food caused my swordsmen to fall into exhaustion and my archers, to start aiming sloppily, and Berlin and I to lose our Mana.

I was terrified this was happening, and I soon found that many of my troops were starting to have Energy Cave-ins. This meant their high metabolism was demanding high amounts of energy to fight, but without the energy, they would start to sacarafice their sight, feeling, and hearing abilities, to continue fighting.

Then I had an Energy Cave-in and I was seeing white flashes pop into my view, everything went blurry, and I was very weak.

Unfortunatly, I had no medi-kit, or any potions that I could indulge to get a small energy boost.

I was tempted to just lie on the ground, but I managed to summon my monks, after which I was drained of all energy and fainted.

I cried out, as I knew my army would go ballistic without my guidance... I just hoped my monks could help out... for they hadn't gotten food, nor could they fill a person's stomache.

After a long period, I woke up in grasslands, and for a moment I was engulfed with relief... finally, the soft nature of green...

And I lied on the ground, saying, "Torrin, isn't this great?"

After a moment I realized I was alone, and when I looked around, I saw 2 swordsmen graves, 2 archer graves, 2 ghosts, lying on the floor, as if dead, and Berlin's grave.

"No." I breathed.

My army... died.

To help me survive.

So did Berlin.

They... died. I felt some white flashes blind me. I still had no food. And fell unconcious again.

This time I awoke... and I was back at the swamp. I felt white flashes and went back to the grasslands.

It kept reappearing. Swamp, grasslands. Swamp, grasslands.

I was in a loop.

Then, a heavy headache burdened me in the swamp. Putrid gases emerged from plants. Toxic odours from the slimy ground. It seemed as if I have never been in the swamp before.

I was seeing flashes... MR1's huge vultures... MR2's Black Orcs... and the war scenes I had always had...

I tried to summon a monk. Instead I summoned a goblin, and it started firing arrows at me.

I tried to fire Energy Blast, and instead, it turned blue and came back to me, and it flashed an electric explosion, hurting me.

Then, a little ball fell beside me. Oh joy, I saw a little string on fire that was connected to it.

An explosion blasted me again.

"Keep Merlin safe!" Cried out a familiar voice.

Suddenly, the dark green swamp started to get lighter in colour.

A blurry figure stood beside me, taking a few explosions.

Another figure started firing white explosions at me, but strangely enough, the blasts actually made me feel a bit better.

I heard the scream that a goblin made if it died. A terrible grunt that always made me shudder.

After a while, I was carried by 2 blurry figures. I was still too much in shock to see properly.

Now the light green scenery got grey, and started to lose its colour as I was carried by 2 blurry figures.

My vision cleared, and I realized I was in a warped grassland.

I saw some figures in the distance.

I realized they were Magical Alliance troops, and an explosion of mental pain blinded me, preventing me from feeling anything or seeing or hearing.

Then I saw my troops. They were OK.

And realized they weren't my troops.

The only one I recognized, was Berlin.

MR ROx, I've got an idea. To do it, you'll have to be leniant, since it involves taking your Soldier in the Night story to new places that you may not have intended. Second, I need the Aldevar archer, fang bunny, baby fang bunny, and golem sprites from Steve. And hopefully a bit more understanding of how Game Maker works. Hopefully coming soon.: TTAOK

Well, after much...uh...weeks, here is the Prologue to my book...

The Legend of Merlin the Blue

Prologue

"So," said the Black Sourcerer, looking around the table with disgust "Why is it that you have brought me into the company of such lowly scum?"
"Perhaps they think the same of you, conjourer, but have the decency not to say it," came the reply, a chilling voice.
"Or perhaps they haven't the bravery to..." muttered the Sourcerer coldly.
"Why should we fear you, dark one, when we know not the evil of whom we share this cavern with?" growled Aldiruss, the King of the Skeleton Warriors. "In fact, who are you, you brought us here, so why not reveal yourself?"
"Some would call me the evil beyond evil, some the king of darkness, some the last of the first...I will not trouble you to call me any of those, I should be best known as Craitorn."
"But why, Craitorn are you refered to as 'the last of the first?' " asked Aldiruss.
The voice grew closer in distance, yet further away, looking into the past as it considered the question.
"I suppose I could tell you," he answered, circling the group while staying too far away to be seen, "Long ago, a war raged between wizards and my kind, the Flitarokki." Just as it is today, the wizards had a type of being that they hated the very name of. At this time it is Goblins and Skeletons, then it was Flitarokki."
He paused as Tarawun, the Ninja leader entered the group and waited until he sat down, then continued: "It is different now, though, as there are many less wizards in the world than then. As I am sure you are all aware, Wizards are said to live and die by their policies, but then they really would die. The battles they went to varied in size, from one order of wizards against one tribe of Flitarokki to twenty orders against twenty tribes...those were dark times, and the wizards
decided that the destruction had to stop, so gathered all of their orders into an army...all but one, who were never bothered by Flitarokki, who arlready hated Goblins and Skeletons...I forget its name...Anyway, the meeting of the wizards that decided on this was spied on, so the Flitarokki were able to gather a matching force - every Flitarokk who had arms and could use them. The battle was a dark, deadly one, lasting so long that some soldiers starved before being killed, and only one wizard, and three Flitarokk were alive by its end. The Flitarokki were on a clifftop near the edge of the battlefield, observing the destruction when the wizard struck. He managed to kill two of the Flitarokki using his sword, though it was clear that he hadn't been been fighting for a lot of the battle. He attempted to strike the third down as he had the first two, but failed, losing his sword to the cliff. Although young for a wizard, the warrior was smart, he backed away, and pretended to trip over one of his slain enemies, but grabbed it's sword as he fell, hurling it into the right arm of his foe, but barely hurting it. Although he knew he wouldn't be able to trick his enemy twice, the slight injury he had caused gave him time to collect the weapon of his first kill, a power staff. He charged it with a blue glow that can only be made by a blue wizard, which of course he was. Striking his enemy several times, he drove it from the cliff edge. That enemy...was me!"
"And how did the Wizards die, since they cannot be killed?" asked the Black Sourcerer.
"The Flitarokki used a special poison that they can inject into prey."
"But how," began the Goblin hero Kalecton, who had until then been silent "are you still alive?"
"How indeed?" agreed Tarawun.
"Flitarokki are winged." replied Craitorn simply. "I just flew away, never setting down for three hundred years, until I injured my wing and alighted...I have never flown since."
Aldiruss looked nervously around, as though the Flitarokk was breathing down his neck from twenty feet away.
"Was the injury that bad?" he asked.
"No, I have never tried to fly since..." the voice grew louder, until he stepped into the light. Everyone in the room sensed his power and stared in shock at what stood before them. The Black Sourceror seemed particularly surprised.
"But that is not why you are here."

*cough*

Yes, well, I'm only twelve.

I don't think the whole book is like this, mind...I was attempting to create a dark atmosphere.

I can't produce chapters as quickly as you lot, so they won't appear every week.

I hope that wasn't too dull and I look forward to the next chapters of the other tales.

The Soldier in the Night

Chapter 12

Imprisoned

My vision blurred again, and my eyes began to close. Not long later my eyes flicked open, unprecedented. Routinely, my eyes soon began to droop again.
After what must have been four or so hours, my eyes clicked open for the hundredth time and finally began to adjust. Instantly, my senses, too, came back, and I shivered. I felt slightly feverish, yet not quite as bad as it had been earlier - I hoped that was the end of my hallucinations.
I jumped as my hand fell across a small puddle of water on the ground. Suddenly feeling my parched throat, I spooned up the water to my mouth using my hands, and drank as much as I was able to.
Finally, I took a look around me. Up above me was a thin, translucent, canvas covering. It was attached to a wagon. At the back of the wagon as a door, which was wide open. I made to get up, and almost tipped over - my feet were tied to a stake in the bottom of the wagon. I cursed. I suppose goblins would be so stupid to just let me escape. I felt in my pockets for my spell papers, to find, not surprisingly, that they were gone.
I heard footsteps outside the stationary wagon and peered through the door. To my astonishment a short goblin with a magic staff appeared at the frame of the door.
Another goblin joined him and looked at me. "He's awake, sir," he said.
The goblin mage stepped into the room and walked up to stand in front of me.
I spat at his face, and he grimaced. "I wouldn't do that," he said. "It will only bring you more pain. He kicked me in the side and I grunted.
"I believe these are yours," he continued, and drew from his pocket two scrolls - energy blast and army summon.
I lunged forward with all my might, only to jerk downwards right before my hands reached the scrolls. My face hit the ground, my nose most likely broken.
I looked at him, my face bloody and seethed, "You can't hurt me. You may have a nice little staff with a bit of magic power, but your no different than the rest of em!" I gestured towards the warrior goblin standing at the edge of the wagon. "You're all so stupid and weak an-"
I recieved a much harder blow, and to the stomach this time, and I keeled over, coughing up blood from my nose.
"Then why are you the one at my feet, helpless and scared?" He spat.
I held my head up and looked him in the eye. "I am not scared."

***********************************************

Telfon, exhausted and sweating, finally saw the camp in site. A few minutes later he called, "Merlin! Got water!"
Telfon plunked the two buckets of water down next to the tent and stretched his aching back. Sometimes Merlin could get on his nerves. It wasn't really his fault, it was more Telfon's own fault for being so loyal yet - it always seemed that Telfon was being treated as a servant, not as a fellow friend. There was always light conversation between them, and friendly exchanges, jokes, drinks, stories... And then there was "Telfon, can you just set up the tent? I'm exhausted!" or "Telfon, there's some bread in that basket over there in the other tent, would you mind just getting it for me?"
He most likely didn't notice he was doing it. It's hard to treat your soldier as a friend, and not as one of a hundred different soldiers that you've fought with. And truthfully, Merlin was doing the best job he'd ever seen. But all the loyalty Telfon showed him, all the willingness to serve, seemed to keep orders coming often enough.
However, it wasn't fair of Telfon to judge by that, because Merlin needed to keep order, despite the fact that the army was very close together. But the lingering thought still often stayed in a corner of his mind... Could Merlin not trust him?
Telfon muttered to himself quietly and walked into the tent with a short smile on his face. The smile soon turned into a frown however. The tent had been ransacked, bags turned over, rations spilt and spoiled. And Merlin was nowhere to be seen.

***********************************************

The wagon was moving on towards a place unknown to Merlin, and it ruffled him quite a bit. Suddenly, the wagon ground to a stop and the goblin mage came out to the back of the wagon along with two goblin warriors and a goblin archer. The goblin warriors grabbed me and pulled me out, still tied to the stake which was wrenched from it's spot in the floor. "The master is waiting," the mage said, grinning devilishly.
I stared in horror up into the massive legs of a rock golem.
"Hello, Merlin," the goblin rumbled in a deep voice, "I believe you owe us a few lives."

**********************************************

Telfon had been searching for almost two hours now, looking for tracks. Nightfall was approaching, and Telfon knew he would soon have to call it a night and set up camp.
In the last hour or so of sunlight, Telfon saw a group of footprints. Small footprints, those of goblins.
He approached the trail, which also contained a trail of a wagon, and bent down. It smelled fresh, and Telfon began to follow it.
Another half an hour passed, and the light was scarce. As Telfon drudged along the trail, wearily, he noticed that it abruptly split. His eyes locked on to the wagon trail, and he continued to follow it in that direction. Towards the mountains.

Telfon blinked. His legs felt like they were about to fall off, his eyes kept trying to close. Yet there he saw it. A giant rock golem. Telfon cursed, and was about to take a wide circle around the rock golem when he saw a wagon approach the golem. The wagon stopped and Telfon could see a few people go to the back. They disappeared inside the wagon for a minute, and then Merlin was dragged out.
Telfon almost yelled for him, but shut his mouth just in time. He continued to watch as Merlin was forced on his knees in front of the golem and given a blue army scroll. What were they doing?
Telfon started approaching quietly.

**********************************************

"Now, summon your three strongest men, and nothing else. We have over fifty goblins here, all of them with there eyes on you. You try anything else, you die."
I turned to look at the goblin mage and said, "No."
The goblin mage laughed and mocked, "What are they to you, Merlin, friends? Your army can't be your friend, Merlin. You should know that... Or this could happen."
A goblin pressed a sword up to my neck and a drop of blood dripped onto my dirty robes. It gave me a jolt, and I was able to keep my eyes focused. It was at that instant that I saw Telfon, and everything after went very fast.

**********************************************

I gave him the signal and he began to charge up a army summon blast. An archer popped into the blue sphere of magic and Merlin released him right next to my spot of hiding. At that moment I struck.

I had never fought so vigourously in my life. My sword whizzed around deflecting, attacking, destroying. Six archers and Ceirus, the monk, kept up to pace, and arrows flew through the night sky.
Merlin had tackled the goblin mage and grabbed his energy blast scroll, and began taking care of the rock golem. It proved to be quite easy for him, since there was only one of the rock golem, and he was extremely slow.
Merlin got hit with an arrow once, but with the courage of a true wizard, he pulled it out and Ceirus healed the wound. The goblin mage was down on the ground, unconcious, from Merlin's first blast of energy which he released. The rock golem was a pile of rocks.
I advanced towards the goblin swordsman who had been guarding the mage. It was just me and him now, in my world. My focus poured out on the swordsman and his on me.
I brought my blade up smoothly and the music began. Clash after clash, our swords cut through the air, whistling, collided. Metal against metal, the noise became a drone, everything toned out.
I was gaining on him, his defense weakening. Suddenly out of the corner of my eye I saw Jent, a fellow archer, fall with an arrow through his heart. I let my guard down and the goblin knocked the sword from my hand. I fell to the ground and lay on my back, the goblin advancing slowly in front of me. He raised his sword for the final blow, when suddenly he lurched and fell. Merlin had connected his quarterstaff with his head.

The battle was soon one, and we tied up the remaining goblins whom were alive.

Hi! Neat stories everyone! (I love the "Merlin, that was a goblin, and it was about to slit your throat.", MR ROX! I don't know whether that was supposed to be serious or funny, but I sure laughed out loud!) My story is being worked on and when it's done, you can see it at the forums, member or not! (I think.)

What the heck are you talking about, Carefree Butterfly? Your stories are fine! Sure they aren't as good as MR ROX!'s stories, (no offense) but whose are? I spent a while looking through the stories to try to find the supposed "streak-breaker", but to no avail. It seems to me the only thing you are guilty of is making me waste my time looking for a nonexistant article. :) J. K. Rowling, (whatever your opinion of her is, she's still a writer of extremely well-selling books, so, yeah) says that she always thinks when she's gotten about midway into the book she is writing at any particular time that it absolutely stinks and no one is going to want to read it... Yeah, riiiiight. So, cheer up. You'll probably feel better about your writing after a while.

MR ROX!, that was not from Overcome, it was just something in the style of Overcome. Overcome is about Merlin, 15 years into the future. All the wizards (except Merlin) have been "transformed" into evil sorcerers. (Anyone who doesn't like that kind of plot, me neither [no really, I hate them] , but this one's different.)

Well, bye everyone, I hope I've made up for my absence by this HUGE post, *slaps forehead* so, bye! Oh yeah, and ME IS HAPPY! About the new HTML rules. So, image!!!

That's my avatar on the TMB forums. Okay, yeah, bye! No, really this time, I mean it! Yeah! END IT ALREADY! Okay, okay, end.

NOT!!! Ha-ha!

Okay, okay, let's go. Bye.

Hmm...no ability to use center, I see.
What's the image size limit here?
And MR ROX!, I think I should say that I didn't notice your chapters length, so it was good enough to be that long.
Hopefully, I'll remember to comeback here and re-inspire myself to do some more writing on my book after reading the other comments, but I have to say you're a genious, though I don't know why...lol
Uh...if I remember my chapter two will appear in the next update. If.
TO THE NEXT SUGGESTION!!!

Knight

Chapter Two

Gortol- Village of Goblins

Now, don't get me wrong... I am a powerful knight, however, Gortol is a village of goblins. There must be at least 50 goblins and several goblin huts.

After purchasing a cheap sword... a dagger at 10 coins, I decided that would be all I could afford to buy.

Now, it would be hard to imagine a soldier overtaking an entire village with a dagger.

It would be very amusing to watch, but since I was that particular soldier, it was not that amusing to me.

I found one of my friends, Artok. He was an archer, and and I asked for his help.

"Why, 'ello there, Tazor." He greeted me.

I quickly told him about my mission not wanting to delay.

"Of course!" He said. He picked up his bow, filled his leather quiver with arrows, and we set off.

When we reached Gortol, our plans were to quietly assassinate as many goblin as we could without being noticed, before we got detected. And we found that the goblins had organized themselves quite well, and we were detected as soon as we reached Gortol

The goblin on duty alerted the city, and soon we were faced with a large army.

Artok struck first, quickly firing his arrows at the enemy, and I stayed planted in the same spot... I would not fight until the goblins reached me.

Artok did very well against most of the goblins, but then found that some of the goblins were armed with bows, so I was getting hit by arrows.

Not wanting to be a practice dummy, I charged. I stabbed with my dagger, and found that it could slash effectively too, since it was a rather enlongated dagger.

The advantage I had was my big, trusty sheild. I could block off many attacks, giving me a a rather higher defense than the goblins.

Unfortunatly, since a bow occupies 2 hands, Artok had no sheild, and when a few goblins pushed me aside, the rest went to stalk Artok.

Poor Artok was gang-beaten so terribly he barely had time to take a bow from his quiver.

And I, was busy trying to defend myself from arrows and swords, so while Artok and I were losing health, the goblins were advancing on us.

I realized that we would not be able to get out of this situation, but then I saw a wizard walk by. It was a white, rather old one, but as he left, he fired a few spells that blew apart the goblins, and gave Artok and I to fight back.

I slashed at the goblin, doing good damage.

Artok pounded the enemy with arrows, and together, we took out a huge amount of goblins.

Artok ran away, then I found that a tree was shooting arrows. It turned out to be Artok, perched on a tree, happily raining arrows on the goblins.

While Artok remained unharmed, my health started to go down, as I had been stabbed several times, and I had a few arrows sticking into my body.

I told Artok to retreat, but he stayed on the tree, accurately attacking the goblins.

Good, I thought. I could run away to recuperate, and Artok could still keep fighting.

Most of the goblin archers were dead, so Artok had little difficulty attacking the dazed goblin swordsmen.

However, it would be hard for Artok to take out the entire village by himself. I was severely injured, and since Artok was in no danger, I went off to a forest for food, letting Artok do his work.

The problem arose, when Artok was out of arrows. I did not know that, while I was foraging for food, and I also did not know that the goblin swordsmen were hacking at the tree, and eventually, the goblins would get Artok.

"Tazor!!" He cried, scared. "Help!"

By the time I had finished collecting food and putting myself back to shape, I had arrived back the Gortol and expected the village to be either fully destroyed or mostly.

And I found Artok, on the ground, drenched in blood. Beside him, was a tree that had fell, sporting huge scars obviously dealt by the goblin swordsmen.

"Artok!!" I cried. He was on the ground, being stabbed constantly by the goblins.

I took out my dagger, and started swinging furiously. I tried to stop them from attacking Artok, but as soon as I attacked one goblin, another would go for a few savage stabs against Artok.

I was numb as I was fighting. I had ditched a teammate in the midst of battle, while he was entrapped by enemies. And during that time, I went for food.

I was so angry, sad and ashamed at the same time. And it came out of me powerfully, as I dealt fatal blows to the goblins. By the time I finished the battle, I was severely injured again, but Artok, was just lying there, as if dead.

I picked him up, and tried to carry him back the to castle where he could be healed by some local monks.

But, Artok was heavy and I was not so sure that the long trip to the monastary would be quick enough, so I tried to run with him in my hands, dripping blood.

I found this quite impossible, and I actually fell, and landed on Artok. He managed a nearly inaudible groan.

"Don't worry, buddy, I won't let you perish," I promised.

I tried to get to the monastery as fast as I could.

Unfortunatly, many creatures sensed my weakness, and the fact that I was busy carrying Artok.

And that was true. I realized I was vulnerable to attack, so I ran to the monastery but with Artok in my hands, I had to "run" just slightly faster than my normal walk.

When I reached the monastery, I asked if the monks could save Artok.

"I do not know for sure," said a monk. "I will try, but I warn you, my powers will not fully heal him. For a battle wound that severe, it is possible he will have to seek the Tardan Berries."

As the monk started firing healing spells at Artok, I realized the problem. For most injuries, monks have little trouble helping make complete recoveries. But for fatle injuries, they must find Tardan Berries, very rare, exotic, and hard to obtain. I was not sure what to do with it... eat it, rub it, or what, but I was sure that it would be hard to obtain.

"Tazor?" Managed Artok. "I-I- what happened?"

I realized that Artok had had his mind knocked hard, so he forgot all the past events. So, as I had tears dripping down my cheeks, I filled him on what had happened, how I acted, and where he was now.

"I'm so sorry," I apologized, still sobbing.

"It's O.K," He croaked. "But I still do not feel normal."

"It's true..." muttered the monk. "The man here needs the Tardan Berries. And since YOU got the man in the problem, YOU should have to get the Berries."

I bit my lip, and asked,"Where are the Tardan Berries found?"

The monk sighed. "They do not exist in a particular place. The Tardan plants grow in random areas, and the plants are very rare. It is possible to find them in the forests, but I highly doubt it. The most probable place to find them, would be, *sigh*, Faungi Isle. Or, you could go to Faungi Island, either one is pretty good for Tardan Plants.

"But..."I stammered. "The Faungi lands are filled with very dangerous monsters, some that are poisonous, some that will crush you immediatly, some that will scorch you to death! Few people have made it there and back... alive!"

"That is true," agreed the monk. "However, if you wish your friend to return to his normal state, he will have to have the Tardan Berries. If you find that that the Faungi lands are too hard you could go to Tardanland, but even there, it would be very dangerous."

"Do you think you could care for my friend while I'm gone?" I asked.

"Sure." The monk said. "See you along!"

And I left. First, I went to Gortol (or what remained of it) and collected what I was supposed to collect for the King.

I gave the swords to the King, which proved to him that I had helped the kingdom. I was awarded 40 gold coins, and a strong sword. I referred to it as a dirk, and it was a relatively powerful sword, and I started on my journey... to get the Tardan Berries.

-----

The reason I started Knight, was because I was finding that Merlin was this big fat power, and I just wanted to also show some of the simpler elements of fighting, on a small scale, like a warrior.

I will still continue my Merlin stories... I just hope you don't think that this story is bad...

The Soldier in the Night

Chapter 13

In the Hands of Telfon

Thinking, thinking. Many thoughts went through my head, in fact. I had a couple soldiers with me now, keeping guard.
“Quint, could you grab some water from the wagon?”
“Sure, Merlin!” Quint replied.
I watched Telfon, who was sitting up against one of the wooden wagon wheels. He was also thinking. Thinking, thinking….
I was still in shock, seeing the rock golems and goblins communicating with each other as if allies. A very disturbing thought. Furthermore, to have seen a goblin mage, with the power to unleash strong energy blasts upon his unsuspecting foe, was so absurd, so bizarre.
Telfon had told me as well that he had seen a second set of tracks, more goblins, which had branched off of the wagon track. Something else was going on, perhaps another captive or a meeting between the goblins and the rock golems.
I strode over to the goblin mage, tied up in the same spot where I had been earlier. His mouth twitched in an annoyed way, and he scratched the floor repeatedly. Very nervous.
“What are you planning with the rock golems?”
The goblin stared at me his eyes glistening with a hatred worthy of a wild wolf protecting it’s territory.
I sighed, tired. “Where was the other group of goblins going? We saw the track.”
A grin fluttered onto the mage’s face for a moment and in an instant it was gone, and he continued his putrid stare. I wasn’t going to get any answers from him.
All of a sudden a flash of metal whizzed by my face and slammed into the wooden wall just an inch above the goblin’s head. He gave a jolt and then attempted to pull the dagger out. Another dagger landed just an inch next to the other, and the goblin mage gave a yelp of surprise and dropped the dagger which he had just pulled out, watching it as it bounced out of reach. He grimaced as Telfon walked up to him, and coiled away towards the wall.
“If Merlin, here, asks you a question, you answer him. If he requests details, you give them. And if you don’t, those daggers won’t miss,” Telfon whispered dangerously staring straight at the goblin mage until the goblin looked away. The goblin’s face contorted into a filthy anger, and he scratched the ground violently until his black nails cracked.
“Come closer,” murmured the goblin.
Telfon walked up to the goblin, his face just a foot away from the goblin’s. “Telfon, watch out!” I yelled, as the goblin grabbed his sword.
Then, in one swift motion, the goblin mage killed himself.
I jumped back in astonishment, and Telfon stood there, dumbfounded. Suddenly, gathering myself, I lashed out at Telfon angrily, “You shouldn’t have pushed him. He was nervous beyond belief and you pushed him! You’ve just ruined our chance of getting any information about the new alliance made between the golems and goblins.”
Telfon spun around to face me, anger as well as a hint of embarrassment on his face, which he probably did not want seen. “He was dead already. As useless as a dog. Don’t put your own blame on me, Merlin. I’m not your slave, which you can punish when you’re in a bad mood.” At that he walked out of the wagon and slammed its door behind him.
I stood there, still, in the darkness, astonished at his outburst. I walked slowly over to the door and felt for the handle, pushing it open, entering darkness – the darkness of night. I shuffled over to my tent, dragging my feet on the hard rock, wearing them almost all the way through the heels. I plunked down onto the ground just outside my tent, and lay back, staring up at the stars. My eyes drifted off towards the Wizard and Sevaan constellation, and began to drift off to sleep. I entered sleep, and my mind toned out…

Bang.

My eyes snapped open. Instantly, I saw a star in the Wizard’s figure suddenly blurred.
Bang.
I jerked up and then three more explosions shook the sky, not five miles away. Energy blast explosions.

Water stung my eyes as I opened them. Morning had come, and with it a torrential rain. Telfon and Quint were already up and about, absorbed in their own activities, involving mostly setting up a shelter from the rain. Nobody seemed to have noticed last night’s interruption.
“Telfon, Quint! We have to move!”
“Merlin, it’s pouring! Why in the heavens would we start moving now?” Boomed Telfon as a loud thunderclap shattered the sky with a deafening noise.
“I think I know what was with the other group of goblins!” I yelled back, as more thunder rumbled heavily.
“And what would that be?” Quint asked.
“A wizard, captive, and in danger! I saw him flare in the middle of the night.” I left out the part with the star dimming. It had always been legend that stars in the Wizard’s constellation dimmed or went out when a wizard was in mortal peril or died. If I told them, they would likely not believe me, despite me being their commander, and I wouldn’t blame them.
“Get in the wagon, it will be faster!” Yelled Telfon. Then, with a frantic look on his face, he yelled something else at me, just as a huge clap of thunder shook the campsite.
“What?” I shouted as loud as I could.
Again Telfon and Quint’s seemingly urgent shouts were lost in a clap of thunder. The ground shook.
“I can’t hear–” I screamed as my ears reverberated with a giant crash, and I was flung violently into the air, smashing my stomach against a wooden pole from the tent. I lay limp on the ground as blackness quickly garbed my vision.

**********************************************

Telfon gave a loud cry as he saw Merlin get hit by the boulder, out cold in an instant. In the edge of his vision he heard Quint give a loud war cry as he charged at the rock golem. Telfon ran over to Merlin, frantic. He nose was a mess, bleeding freely, and their was a huge gash around his whole right arm. Wild thoughts ran through Telfon’s mind as he panicked. Merlin was a righty, what would he do. Merlin once said that he would rather be dead than lose his legs in a war. Merlin had once killed a whole camp of skeletons all by himself. Merlin had….
Telfon shook his head, trying to clear it, and unfroze. He sprinted over to the wagon and rummaged frantically through all the bags, looking for medical equipment. In too much of a hurry to search more, he just grabbed a large shirt and tore off the arms. He sprinted back to Merlin and bent down to take a look at his arm.
After a quick decision, Telfon made a tourniquet out of one arm of the shirt, stopping the blood flowing from Merlin’s arm. Racking his head for what to do next, he twisted his head downwards to look at Merlin’s legs. Both were broken.
Once again, Telfon took off towards the wagon, and found what he was looking for. Running back to Merlin, he quickly stuck the pieces of wood he had found under Merlin’s legs, supporting them, so that they didn’t lie in the awkward position they were in. Not knowing what to do next, Telfon took out a cloth and dabbed at Merlin’s nose. The cloth was soon a deep crimson colour. Tearing, Telfon, soaked to his skin, took flight towards the rock golem, leaving Merlin.
“Quint!” He yelled anxiously, peering through the thick rain. “Quint! Where are you?” Telfon began to sob, whispering to himself, “Dead, dead, we’re all dead… I’m going to kill you!!” He hollered into the layers and layers of rain and wind.
He charged forwards hysterically, towards the rock golem which loomed in the rain. The polished rock golem turned from what was preoccupying it and focused on Telfon, throwing a boulder towards him.
Noticing just in time, Telfon dashed to the side, slipping and knocking his knee against the ground hard. With a fury, Telfon got up and continue his run towards the rock golem. The boulder missed and Telfon arrived at the Rock golem’s feet, swinging his sword with all his might. He hacked and smashed at the rock, which was not quite as hard as regular rock. The golem was about to launch another rock at Telfon when Telfon’s sword made a final slice through the golem’s leg.
As the golem began to tumble, Telfon ran for his life, rain freezing his brain as it slammed against his head. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Quint, on the ground, alive. The rock golem was going to come crashing down on him.
Telfon lurched to a stop and turned around, darting back to Quint. Picking him up, Telfon ran towards the camp. The golem came crashing to the ground, just out of reach of Telfon and Quint, shaking the ground violently.
Finally back at the camp, Telfon let Quint down onto the ground and grabbed Merlin, taking him to his bed. With Merlin safe in his bed, Telfon watched as Quint stood up slowly. He hadn’t broken anything.
“You okay?” Telfon asked.
“I’m fine. Merlin needs help–”
“Follow me. We’re going to the wizard that let off the flare.”
“…What? Telfon, Merlin’s might die! He’s still bleeding!” cried Quint.
“Yes, I know. That’s why we’re going to the other camp. The other wizard is the only person who will be able to summon a monk to help Merlin. Now follow me.”
Telfon was off in an instant, Quint trailing behind.

The rain had stopped. The sun was shining. The birds were singing. And Merlin was dying.
Telfon tried to control his thoughts, which were running wildly through his mind a thousand times faster than he was running towards the unknown captive wizard. Control, control. He thought to himself, trying to calm himself. More than anything, Telfon was worried he was going to have a heart attack. His whole body pulsed with a fervent beat stronger than any he had felt before. His adrenaline pumped him more, and he ran faster. Quint, sweating almost as hard, was tagging along a bit behind.
Telfon halted suddenly, as a couple tents came into view. No rock golems were in sight, which was nice, but another goblin mage accompanied the ten or so goblins which made up the camp.
A few minutes later Quint caught up and surveyed the scene. “They’ll slaughter us!–” Quint began.
“You take the two archers, I’ll go for the mage.” I whispered.
“Wait, Telfon, you can’t!–” Quint was cut short again as Telfon sprinted towards the camp. With no choice but to do as Telfon had commanded, Quint headed for the archers.

“Someone’s coming!” One of the goblins said.
At that moment, Telfon ran into the camp roaring with all his might. He lunged at the goblin mage, and by the element of surprise, impaled him straight through the stomach. There was just a moment’s pause of astonishment before the goblin warriors charge at Telfon. The archers prepared to release arrows towards Telfon, when one gave a yelp as he was knocked to the ground. The other spun around quickly and released the arrow, nicking Quint’s left shoulder. Without stopping, Quint beheaded the goblin with one swift stroke and headed towards Telfon to help.
Seven goblins chased after Telfon as he ran towards the larger of the tents. Four were heading towards Quint. Telfon ripped open the tent’s door and glanced around the room. Spotting the wizard, he dived out of the way of a sword’s slice and released the ropes around the purple wizard’s arms. Delighted, the wizard got up and ran towards a bag, grabbing the energy blast scroll.
Telfon, cornered, parried three goblins which were attacking him. Exerting all his effort into dodging and defending, Telfon’s deflections were growing weaker. In that instant, an energy blast knocked the goblins to the ground, rendering them unconscious.
Telfon looked at the wizard in silent thanks, which the wizard returned graciously, but with no time to waste, they ran out of the tent to help Quint. After a few more blasts of energy, the rest of the goblins were dead. Telfon did not bury them.
With a short explanation of the situation to the wizard, the small group was jogging back to the camp at which Merlin rested.

Upon arrival, Telfon led the purple wizard towards Merlin’s tent, and gave him the army summon scroll.
“You have to summon a monk,” Telfon told the wizard. “The monk will be able to heal Merlin.”
“I don’t have the strength,” the wizard replied worriedly.
Thinking quickly, Telfon responded, “There’s a stash of potions that Merlin keeps. He doesn’t drink them all because he doesn’t like to drink them all at once, lest he get a power surge. You may be able to temporarily boost your power by drinking a lot of them.” Telfon ran over to a large bag full of Merlin’s personal belongings, and grabbed a number of red potions, trying hard not to pay attention to any private things Merlin had in the bag.
The purple wizard took the potions and chugged them quickly. He gave a deep breath and began to charge up the army summon spell…

The next day Merlin woke up. The purple wizard – whom they had by now figured out was Berlin, Merlin’s brother –, Telfon, Quint, and Ceirus, were sitting around him. Telfon was sleeping, and had been from the second he saw Ceirus was going to take care of Merlin as soon as he was summoned. Quint had rested his eyes for much of the time, but was awake now. Berlin and Ceirus had been making sure Merlin wasn’t burning up in a fever.
Merlin blinked slowly. He looked at his legs, which were incredibly stiff – Ceirus had not been able to heal them completely after healing all of the other wounds. Then, he looked up into his brother’s face and gave a cry of joy. “Berlin!” He exclaimed.
Berlin smiled and hugged him.
At that moment Telfon woke up, and, seeing Merlin awake, gave him a warm and welcoming hug as well. “Telfon saved your life pretty much all on his own, Merlin,” said Berlin.
Merlin looked at Telfon with a warmth in his eyes that Telfon hadn’t seen in weeks. “Thank you,” he said.
As the day went on, Quint and Berlin recounted what had happened for Merlin. Told him of all the heroic things Telfon had done, taking on a rock golem and half a goblin camp all by himself.
They burned a fire, rested and talked. Exchanged stories. Merlin peered upwards toward the now dark, night sky. At that moment, two stars shone bright again. One of them the same that Merlin had seen blur previously, and the other what Merlin figured must be his star. Merlin lowered his gaze, smiling to himself, finding himself staring at Telfon’s raised head. He had seen the blurred stars become clear.

NIGHTS OF INDIGESTION EPISODE 4 THE LAND OF SHADOW

the battle was crazed there was many goblins yet many of us too
we were winning berlin killed 3 goblins with an energy blast and
merlin was blasting with the energy pulse and it raged on we had
a plan if merlin charges up the army sommon and sommon a dwarf
it could build a tower and destroy there whole army!!! buy there are
to many archers that may pick off the dwarf so merlin will charge up
the army sommon and berlin and the rest of the troops defend merlin and destroy thier archers "its almost charged up!" said merlin in a cold but satisfeying voice but before it was charged he saw the
black sorcerer terrified in shock merlin did his best to charge up the
blast but before so he was hit by the cursed spell.... his vision blured
it was getting darker and darker he was cold nearly dead his nerves made a terrified pain that was so brutal that merlin wished he was
dead. he saw berlin talking to him but heard no words it was scary
he passed out fainted all was black next thing he knew he was in a
big field that was covered in ash, blood, swords, shield, helmets and
dead bodies. he saw a man a young 20 year old wizard that looked
like a dark wizard a pale face cold blue hair and blue eyes with no
sign he just blurted out "wind of the east come to me!" then a series
of orange wind came to his hand and it blasted out causing merlin to
fly in the air and the young wizard to see him "my name is drakar" he said in a cold hoarse voice "i have come to help you" "then why attack me?" said merlin "i was destroying any goblins that may have survived" he said "just to be sure" "come with me to the land of shadow" said drakar " unless you want to be in the dark alone thats fine with me" he said "wait up!" said merlin drakar smiled.
they past the caves of peral and mountins of doom until they reached a spot of black terrain that was was dark possesed by evil and full with bones and dirt. and there was a tower in the center that
was totaly black with spikes and a a giant green ball of energy at the
top they walked directly at it merlin never saw such a sight it was huge but merlin still wondered why he had not died of the spell it was sopposed to kill him, thats a question merlin would really wanna
ask drakar alot but he continued when he entered he saw a big crystal ball on a table it was very shiny and sparkling. merlin looked at it and saw berlin but berlin was in pain he saw him dead merlin was nervous he did not know if this was true but he had to ask drakar "drakar! its berlin! hes in trouble!" said merlin " i have to go
after him! "no" drakar said in a calm voice "what?!?!" shouted merlin
now merlin did not know whether to trust drakar or not if he is a
friend or foe but there has to be a reason "you cant escape" said drakar just then some ninjas sliding from ropes came down with swords but merlin saw a pretty short one that was sliding down and fell off "rope burn!!!" said the ninja as he fell face first "now my beard
will look drafty! said the ninja "beard!!?!??!!??" shouted all the ninjas
"ulin!?!?!?" said merlin "uh... ya" said ulin the ninjas got everywhere jumping and slashing as merlin and ulin blasted them with menacing blasts on the side drakar was charging up a red blast that looked dangerous he blasted it at merlin and merlin was sent flying in the air
as merlin hit his head on a table ulin was fighing well although he had a ninja on his back that would not come off he was fine. merlin blasted drakar with the energy blast and that caused him to go flying in the air. merlin and ulin jumped out the window it was a long fall but they landed on a ninja they saw a big hole that was dark coverd with spikes and out came an army of orcs all armed and armoured about to attack merlin and ulin they knew they were dead.. it was 30000 to 2 "you should look behind you" said a voice behind merlin and there stood the whole wizard council and berlin about to fight

it swung its axe at merlin but merlin dodged it merlin blasted the fiend and it got even more mad it slashed once more but merlin jumped on the axe (pretty good for an old man) and started blasting its head it, fell down face first and merlin ran to the tower

"it will kill you!" "muhahahahahaahha!" "boy you laugh alot!" said ulin
"silence!" said drakar "i laugh when i please!" "muhaahahhaaah!"
"hes crazy" said all the wizards together "silence!" said drakar
"muahhaahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahah!"
then merlin got fed up and blasted him in the downstairs
"wheres the downstairs?" asked ulin " um.." said merlin and he looked at his private "oooooookkkkkkk"
"lets get out of here" said merlin. but before they could there was something behind them find out what it is in the next episode of

"your so much like drakar" said merlin ulin blasted the black sorcerer
with a ray of wight light as the rest of the wizards hit him with the energy blast

Great story MR ROX! I could find two wrong words.
I suppose goblins would be so stupid to just let me escape.
It would be supposed.
The battle was soon one, and we tied up the remaining goblins whom were alive.
It would be won.

NIGHTS OF INDIGESTION EPISODE 5 THE JOYSTICK OD DOOM

"bwaaaaaa!" said the black sorcerer, merlin was fed up with all the evil laughing so he just blasted the joystick and it blew up.
"nooooooooooooooooo!" shouted drakar and the black sorcerer
"ok guys jump out the window" said merlin the wizards jumped out
the window and had a long fall in the battle field they all landed on goblins "the battle is still on sir!" said a soldier merlin blasted an incoming orc and 2 goblins "look the magical alliance!" said merlin
there stood the magical alliance behind the orc army.
they blasted the orcs and goblins with all there might as wizards
attacked the goblins and the soldiers just kinda helped after a long length of fighting the magical alliance was killed by the goblin and orc army the soldiers were on a hill with a cold breeze of wind it started to rain as the troops fought hard and there was it merlins vision blured he could see shapes and shadows the colours of the troops and orcs but still fought he saw ulins wight light destroying any goblin that touches it energy blastes flying in the air then the slow motion blur stopped and it was easy to see again and faster motion he saw big blasts in the air that came from dark gollums so he continued the fight blasting his way through the battlefield
"we have to regroup!!!" said the captian "regroup!" the troops tried to get together but the battle was to intense. "you did not kill the joystick!" shouted drakar "here it is!"

muhaahahahahahahahahahahah "i kill you!" the joystick blasted a big green blast that was the cursed spell but it could destroy the whole army but it had bad aim and it destroyed the goblin army

Nice stories osel. You you should probably try to put it some proper grammer though, :P
kgy - thanx for the edits: the first one you were right was a mistake, but it should have been (and i already had edited this in the version i sent steve) 'I suppose goblins wouldn't be so stupid to just let me escape.'
The second mistake, ill have to go and see if ive fixed it already - im not sure. Thnx!

I always like when ppl send me mistakes in spelling or grammer in my stories, cause it saves me from having to go through the whole thing, spiffing it up. Even if it should be 'too' instead of 'to', thats great! Thnx again kgy.

Im really sorry, i know i said i had a lot of time, but i dont think ill get a chance to submit a story this week. Ill try very hard to get at least one story into the next update though.

darren - ya, that last chapter was a bit long. It's hard for me to keep it down, cause now ive started to do them in microsoft word first, and then paste it here, and the familiar environment of word sorta makes me wanna right more. Its hard to explain. Ill try to keep it down though.

Also, i thought i had already given comments on ur story - i guess i didnt. ill write them on the other story page.

Thnx for looking,

NIGHTS OF INDIGESTION EPISODE 6 OUT OF THE FIRE

the battle was soon over the goblin army was destroyed and all they had to do was get outta there! so all the troops that were alive retreted back to a safe spot some carring wounded the ran for thier lives and headed home............
"hey merlin!" said berlin "hey" said merlin
"wasup" said berlin "oh nothing just the fact we lost a tremendous battle and 3000 troops died thats all"said merlin
"oh your really bumed out about that eh?"
"how about we play wasted?" berlin suggested
"ok"said merlin berlin and merlin blasted eachothere until they got wasted "ah nice to play that game again" said merlin
"can i join in?" asked ulin "sure" said merlin the wizards blasted eachother until they got wasted "HAHAAHAHAHHA!"
"THATS CRAZY" the wizards were having a splendid time and the soldiers were training but in the ushes lies an enemy an enemy they have not seen for a while: a karate master looked as if he was trained for years and looked real tough behind him were a bunch more karate masters and kung fu chickens then at the precise moment they jumped out punching and kicking the soldiers merlin saw the fight and warned the others and the fight was on a karate master kicked 3 troops at once merlin knew that infantry would be no match against karate so he tried to pull them back just when a karate master took a troop's sword and slashed with it and a chicken rampaging at troops sqaushing and trampiling troops the infantry fled as archers and dwarfs fired at the masters with a great amount
but the masters dodged it yet the chickens were having a bad time dodging, once the masters got to the archers they had no chance archers have no melee weapons so they ran but the dwarfs highly skilled in axe throwing and melee fought there hardest while the wizards charged up their blasts "the beat them is if we have a rock gollum and we dont have a rock gollum" said merlin
"hey wait a sec"said berlin "i still have the replica of the monster summon!" he said "great bring it here!" said merlin with relief
so merlin charged up the monster summon while dwarfs fought and wizards blasted "almost there!" said merlin and a a rock gollum appeared on the blue orbs of light and merlin blasted it on an empty spot and a rock gollum appeared the dwarfs retreated and the wizards held thier fire the cry of battle was great the action was terrific as a rock gollum blew up some chickensand masters....
the men cheered of there great victory and they setteled down
at nightfall the men drank and got drunk and...you get the picture
"kiss me goodnight, centurion! centurion be a matter to me!" said merlin in drunk voice (well he is drunk put it that way)
"oh boy merlin you mush be ash drunk ash a shkunk"said ulin
"oh yeah boy? im younger than you are!"said merlin
"no you your not!!"said berlin "yes i am im only 333345689 years old"
said merlin "oh yeah? im 200044332!!" said berlin
the guys argued over whos younger and the men were happy
for now.....................................................
"MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"said a voice
"wash that?" asked merlin "the dark lord drakar!" said drakar
"im here to kill you! MUHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAH!!!said drakar
"oh not this again" said ulin "and here is the joystick of doom!" said drakar

"MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH I BLAST YOU! shouted drakar
the shot blasted and missed and turned around and hit his face
"IM DYING!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
drakar blew up in to ashes "finaly its done"said merlin
"yeah that dude was annoying" said ulin
now is the end of the day and and we must sleep...
that night there was one karate master still alive it went over to sword that came from a soldier and took it went up to merlin and....

Sorry I haven't been on lately, but I've been playing (hope I can say this) Runescape and Tank Mania. Good stories. My comments go out to:

MR. ROX! Because you still have great stories even though you didn't have one last week.

Osel Although you could use grammar check. (no offence)

steve Your welcome for the story.

Carefree_Butterfly WHERE ARE YOU!!!

I miss just sitting down infront of the computer reading stories from here. But since MR. ROX! didn't have one this week and Carefree_Butterfly is lost in the Desert somewhere and Osels stories are kind of short(still no offence) it has only taken me about 25 minuets to read stories. *Sigh*. Pardon my French but I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER! I feel dirty for saying that...*Weeps*

Anyways, I might be makin some stories of my own sometime. I feel inspiried. Yes I know that this comment is long, but I feel that it needs to be said and that other parts have no reason to be put in said comment. An example of the last part of the previous sentance is:
I have 'Silly Puddy.'

Anyways, Goodbye. So long. Farewell. Bye-Bye. See you later.

HOLY COW.

I've been gone for a very long time.

That's cuz my computer broke down and getting a new one and setting it up was scary.

I have nothing to do with my Merlin Series, so I'll do that next time. Right now, Knight is the story I like right now.

Knight

Chapter Three

Advancing to Foungi

It was really painful preparing to go to Faungi. It would be my way of helping Artok recover. However, it was not as righteous as one would think it is.

Faungi is a very dangerous place, with toxic plants, poisonous animals, and many deadly features, such as fungi in the air. In my life, I have heard tales a many of men who went fo Faungi island. And never come back. And very few that have come back. Only one person ever went there and came back with all his limbs intact.

So when I went for another archer to join me on my journey as a partner, I didn't feel ashamed.

His name was Barat, a curious name, but his archery skills were fantastic. Born rather well raised, he uses superior oak arrows tipped with silver lined steel tips, compared to Artok with is pine arrows with bronze tips. Barat carried a yew bow, which, combined with is arrows and amazing ranging skills, made him a very powerful archer.

We carried as much food as we could, and we began the journey to Faungi. We travelled by taxi wagon, and walked about 100 paces to Faungi, where the taxi wagon refused to continue. I paid the driver 3 bronze coins, and we went into Faungi.

When Barat and I, Tazor, went into the Faungi land, we were expecting some scary stuff. That doesn't even come close to describing the creatures in Faungi Forest, a barrier that serves as an outer layer to Faungi.

We saw field bats, and the were amazingly strong. They blasted unknown chunks of black stones with amazing force and accuracy. Despite the danger we were in, Barat could not control his laughter... his direct hit arrows eliminated the bats very effectively... me... that was a different matter.

I would chase the bats, and when I get close enough, I swing. Not that I have a chance at hitting them. They just fly away and spit another rock-like substance at me, knocking me to the ground.

Bat-chunks, we called them. They were very dangerous. A blow to the head with those would knock any human unconcious.

And when bats weren't enought, we met 4-legged quadranids, that were not only powerful, but could launch explosive bombs, from a missile launcher on its back.

A missle launcher equipped spider! How heartwarming! These monsters, I couldn't even get close to the quadranids. Barat could occasionally fire a few arrows, but neither of us could really take them down. We always had to run.

So, we hid in the forest. If a creature came too close, I would jump out, and sever the heads of whatever came. Goblin, bat, or quadranid. Head. Off. Period.

Did you know that quads are aggressive? When you see an army of 20 quads or so, rampaging toward you, with the missile launchers glowing and revved up, it's not exactly the most fortunate thing to have happen to you.

I jumped into action, whipping my sword at the the quads. My sheild was useless against the bombs. I didn't dare let the bomb explode near my sheild, which was made of wood and encased in bronze. One blow and my sheild would make a good jigsaw puzzle. I more of used it to bonk it into quadranids that got close enough to stab me with their sharp legs.

Barat, was also putting his bow into overdrive. His quiver held 50 arrows. Quite a bit, but when you need more than 10 to fully kill a quad, it can be a little less than you wanted.

So, every once in a while, he'd scramble all over to collect his arrows. And sometimes he'd have to pull it out of a quad's body, to shoot it at it again. Gross.

I've always like monkeys. They are an odd creature. This comes into play in Faungi Forest. Everything seems to be exaggerated. This monkey, apparently not noticing the the bloodshed, hopped to the ground from a tree, climbed up my body, and gave be a good slap in the face. Just like that!

I, enraged, (since we were in a middle of a life-death situation) grabbed the monkey by the tail, and whipped him away.

Note to self: NEVER get a monkey mad.

The cursed critter came back, and stuck his butt in my face.

The fact is, I never really knew that monkeys could fart.

Barat, was really enjoying this. Seeing an almighty soider get beat up by a monkey is quite entertaining.

And boy, oh boy... did that monkey eat a LOT of beans. It just kept going and going and going! Non stop.

Holy, cow! Is this monkey going to go on until he turns the air brown??? I thought to myself.

It was not pleasant, I'll tell you that. When a quad blew him up, I almost went up to the quad and gave it a hug. It's a good thing I was still angry at the quad.

SLASH. SLASH. SLASH.

I've never really minded blood all over the place. But Quadranid blood is green. It's like liquid mold. It's not fun to get sprayed.

Thank god we got away ALIVE.

And I decided to continue the journy with Barat.
------------

Well, how'd you like that one? I added a bit of humour, but if you didn't find it funny, tell me, and I'll discontinue humour.

Did you like the perpetual farting monkey?
