The Suggestion...

Well, I have my own ideas about the final battle, but if I didn't, I would like this and think that it seems to be in keeping with the general atmosphere of MR.
Steve, is the final battle gonna have a very cinematic feel and be super-awesome and stuff? I hope so. I hope it's several screens long, or something, but not so long that it's boring, but where you really feel like you hafta make good use of all your spells, summoning soldiers to hold back the big bosses armies, and going in close to take him out yourself! You could even make it where you can only beat him using a sword or something. You should have one boss (maybe not the big boss) that can only be killed with a special sword only Merlin can use. That would be challenging!
I like the idea of multiple screens, Morsh, but I don't know about the sword...wouldn't that be a bit hard? Multiple screens would be very cool - you use "all" of an "evil" wizard's health up on one screen, but he escapes to the next, then fights you again: you use up his health again, and suddenly power flows from his arm (from a *magical* cut)and flies off to the next screen, where the Scarlet Wizard is. Losing power turns him back to normal, and he teleports out. The extra power makes Scarlet super-powerful, but after a short fight he has a power overload and morphs into a red version of the black sorcerers giant bat-like form. The Sorcerer runs in, afraid that the super-powerful form will turn against him and err...obliterate him, so he drains power from it, but too much, as he becomes Amotolin again and teleports out (the coward). (The other wizard was turned good earlier on). This is my idea. I couldn't stop it, sorry if its over-the-top (my imagination is like that).
The following stuff may have copyright problems, but if they do, alternate but similar stuff should be substituted in your mind(s). Unless you're an Illithid (mindflayer), in which case, said stuff should be substituted for other people's minds, which you've eaten.
First off, you could borrow a few lines off Final Fantasy IX:
("Wh-what!? You've already defeated Ozma?!) I've come too far to retreat. Onwards!"
(Which is what you get when you fight Hades if you've already beaten Ozma, for the reference crazy, like me).
Then, something that reminds me of that skeleton guy in the fifth dungeon (Catfish's Maw) of Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for GameBoy (I had the DX version - colour rules! :)) anyway - yeah, that skeleton guy, you run into him a few times, and he runs away, but what I was thinking of was what he says when he runs away for the second and third times (I think it's the same, it's definately the same message at the start both times ("Y-You again?! You just don't give up!) or something like that. Anyway, once you've hurt him a bit, he says "You're too strong! I can't beat you!" or whatever, then somehow gates out through the roof. Even on the top floor of the dungeon. (Wait - Links Awakening only had single floor dungeons, except for eagle tower.)
Erm. Then the last time you find him he says something like "I won't be able to outlast you", then something about not running away anymore. Then you kill him, then like the stupid idiot I am, forget to pick up the hook shot he drops, and have to go kill him again.)
And some other suggestion - SomeBigNastyBadGuy (?) (I hate finding that symbol), possibly said big mean boss guy, could have some sort of shield, which only drops when hit by magic, but you cannot actually hurt him (perhaps he's wearing a ]oMR (or is '[' cloak? I can never remember)), so you need to hit him to lower his shield, then a summon guy actually hurts him. Maybe make it work like the nazg?l, so when something hurts it, they take damage too.
I don't really make suggestions anymore, as I tend to ramble on, as you all can see.
(P.S. Final Fantasy rules!)
(P.P.S. - For those of you who have forgotten, I am also Feory and Kalieum (Kalieum on the new forums, Feory on the 'send comments to steve' thing, and on the bug report form.)

ookaaaaaaaay...I didn't understand any of that...
I know what you mean?
It doesnt make any sense why Merlin isn't turned evil. The only real solution is to have Ulin on the screen protecting you and he's too wise to be evil or something.
Well, Merlin isn't turned evil because he's too much trouble to risk being able to suppress the power, the sorcerer thought it better if he were just killed.
Besides, he scratched the sourcerers cloak. No-one is allowed to scrach it. (he's a bit touchy)
i agree with morsh i was playing megaman battle network 3 blue on the gba and i found a virus that looked like the black sorcerer when he morphs into that shadow thing and it could only be hurt by sharp weapons such as sword shurukins etc.
Well...
I think that this is the sort of humour that you should have in MR.
