Steve replied,

It works for 30secs in MR2 in MR3 it's permanant until you press 'i' again.

Well done on finding it!

On 7th Apr 2007, Erik o'Neil wrote,

how many potions do u need to morp and summon a golem?????

Steve replied,

Honestly, I can't rememeber! It was a long time ago when I made MR2.

On 13th Mar 2007, james wrote,

I once had the morph spell leave me with the blue tint after it wore off

it was pretty sweet

Steve replied,

Lol, yeah that's a minor bug. If you collect a potion while your morphed that happens. I left it cos it's quite nice.

On 14th Feb 2007, kk2000 (....) wrote,

how do i get the morph spell?

Steve replied,

It's on the first screen of MR2.

On 11th Jan 2007, Darren wrote,

Heehee. I like the sneaky little way of ending the MR2 cutscene!

Steve replied,

Hehe, yup. I didn't want to get rid of the TV watching altogether as that would have meant altering the start to MR3 as well.

YOu make the best games. BUt where are all the secret areas?

Steve replied,

Er, there aren't any. Sorry!

On 4th Dec 2006, Tilden wrote,

Where to find Energy beam?

Steve replied,

It's near the top of the map, in the left-middle if I remember correctly. You have to find a screen with a single necromancer on it.

Maybe someone reading this will be able to provide a more definitive answer.

If you want to just search for it, you can cheat by pressing the 'k' key to instantly kill all the enemies on a screen, once you've found it, reload your game and carry on playing properly.

On 4th Dec 2006, Tilden wrote,

YOu can find both MErlin 1 @ 2 on www.bonus.com under action.

Steve replied,

Indeed you can. Bonus gave us a lot of traffic in the early days - I am eternally grateful to them!

WOW!
Someone mentioned MR2 on Arcade Town...and, well, let me see.
I first discovered MR2 on Mousebreaker.
Then I googled it, looking for an MR1. (or, to be exact, a 2: I was confused and thought MR2 was MR1...or did I? I dunno.
Anyway, when I saw the page MR2 is on on arcadetown (not the actual page, the one where it says "click to play".
That's what I found on Google!!!
I scrolled down and found the link...oh, memories :D.

Steve replied,

Cool!

You know I can't remember how I discovered MR ;)

On 26th Oct 2006, Kays wrote,

I've found all of the scrolls except the blue one. Where is it, and what does it do?

Steve replied,

I'm assuming you're playing MR2 since the blue is on one of the first screens of MR3.

It's in the Black Fortress and it summons monsters to come and fight for you.

On 13th Sep 2006, osel wrote,

Steve replied,

Cool! I could only find it under adventure though, not action.

Garonlin the Grey
________ the Yellow
Ulin the White
Merlin the Blue
Veradinlin the Green
Amotonlin the Red
Berlin the Purple
Prestolin the Indigo

Steve replied,

Yes that's right - you're missing two.

Flaetorlin the Yellow
Foelin the Orange

Nice one!

On 26th Jun 2006, topherforeman wrote,

how do you get merlin's revenge on a website please tell me

Steve replied,

write to me with the URL, I'll send you a hosting pack. You will need to know a little HTML to make it work.

On 24th Jun 2006, Sebby19 wrote,

You know, seeing that you are able to display the entire MR3 beta map all at once, could you please do the same for MR1 and 2. I am just curios how it all looks from space (haha). You don't have to do it now, maybe like when you release the finshed MR3. Just lock this info in your head.

P.S. Maybe put this in the bits n peices section of the updates so it doesn't get buried with the other updates

Steve replied,

Ah, now you see, the first two games were made with a different map editor. It would be too time consuming to make them display the whole map.

On 20th Jun 2006, xfft wrote,

nice work on the new map
is there anywhere one could look at the full maps for mr1 and mr2?

Steve replied,

Not at the moment, but there is a fella who is putting together a website on this very subject as we speak. I won't mention his name in case he changed his mind, but once he's finished he'll let me know and I'll post up the URL in the news.

Oh.
How...odd...
I just unpuased the game (with the still spinning eggs) and...they kept spinning, not moving.
I completed the screen, and it's letting me out, but they're spinning...

Steve replied,

Odd, but I'm not going to spend time on this right now. Sorry for the bug.

On 7th Jun 2006, Darren (Book/Chewing Productions) wrote,

Two problems with MR2.
Should I put them in the bug report thingy? (only it scares me)
Anyway, they are:
1: I paused MR2 and one of the bugs ignored the blatant pause menu and started biting me...
2: I unpaused, then pused again, and the bug eggs kept spinning.

Steve replied,

Yeah, I know about these. They won't be fixed any time soon - just not important enough. Sorry!

Ok, first, I love your Merlin's Revenge games.... I have always loved Zelda and until I played Merlin's Revenge 2, I thought no game was better... (Merlin's Revenge 2 was the first I played out of the series..) (It will be a series right?) Well. keep up the awesome work.

Steve replied,

Thanks man, that means a lot to me!
